damage around the door and the boxing. This cost was estimated around $300. They said they also wanted to get another contractor to look at it for a second opinion. I didn't hear anything in April. They said they had a different contractor look at it, estimating $3,400 in damage. They had a rep from the door company look at the door, who said there was no problem. The door did not leak, but he had a condensation problem. I realized the gutter had to do with these problems. The basement isn't finished and there is no heat or dehumidifier to control the moisture. I was unaware of this problem. I'm unsure why they waited until now to take care of this. The whole issue is the condensation and moisture in the basement. I don't think I am responsible for this issue because it is basically neglect on their part, letting the leak happen for 6 years. It should have been addressed back then. Had I been aware that there was a problem in the past, and we could have taken care of this issue, there wouldn't have been any damage done.
