Review: With this company, I was able able to obtain car insurance for my new car in February of 2012. I contacted the company to see if I could get a lower premium in September of 2012. They switched my car insurance to a lower premium, and informed me that I had not other payments to make, other than a down payment on my new insurance premium, and another payment 10 days later. Representative by the name of ** assured me that I would not have to make any payments on my old insurance, and I do not have any balance left from by previous insurance with them. Starting in December of 2012, I began receiving phone calls from a collection agency stating that I had a past due balance of 74 dollars on my previous car insurance account. I was told that I am entitled to pay the amount, and they did out understand why the company that gave me the insurance is telling me that I do knot have a balance to pay. I contacted the insurance outlet, and informed them that I was getting phone calls about a balance. They told me to ignore it, and that the collection agency does jot know what they are talking about, and I no longer have a balance because of an agreement that the insurance company has for people that switch their car insurance. I contacted the corporate office where the collection agency is located. Corporate stated that the insurance outlet is still incorrect and that this will go on my credit report if I do not pay. I have ask the corporate office to contact the insurance office that sold me the insurance, and they stated that they will not do that because it will not make a difference. I also contacted the insurance outlet to have the information they gave to me about not having to pay any money towards my old insurance policy in writing, and they stated they could not do so.Desired Settlement: I would like this balance to be paid by the insurance outlet do to them giving me the information that I did not have to pay. I do not want this to go on my credit, as I am still young and have no bad credit. I would like to have this information in writing as I have requested in the past from the insurance outlet so that it can be forwarded to the collection agency.
