Philadelphia Eye Institute Reviews (1)

Review: On August 21, 2013, I received an examination for new glasses. I choose glasses at their lens showroom inside the institute on September 6, 2013 at which time I paid 120.00 balance after my insurance paid the rest. After I pick the glasses up on or about the week after approximately a week to 10 days later; the 2nd day after wearing them I saw a glare in both lenses and when I looked up in the light I could see the letters and numbers of my prescription on both lenses. This is what was causing the glare/smudge. I went back to the lens department and spoke with the manager, [redacted] on or about October 16, 2013, and explained to him that I was not satisfied with the glasses and that I was actually seeing the letters and numbers in my glasses. He explained to me that was how they produce their "progressive lenses" and there was nothing he could do. I then kindly asked for a refund of 120.00 I paid on September 6, 2013, so I could go somewhere else. He said "we don't give refunds".I then told him I thought I was dealing with a reputable eye clinic and that seems to be unacceptable. He then ask me to hand him the glasses and he would go in the back and clean them. When he returned he asked me to wear them for a month and that I probably wouldn't see the glare any more. I them explained to him that I have had progressive lenses before and never had this problem. He actually saw my old glasses and said "well you may have never seen the numbers, but they were there" Be that as it may, I never had glasses that I saw my prescription numbers and letters. I told him he would be hearing from my attorney or that I would take this matter to small claims court because I'm seeing letters and numbers when I wear the glasses which I should not be seeing. All I'm asking is that they take back these glasses that I'm seeing the writing in them and give me my refund. They have also been paid by [redacted] Insurance which I also notiiedDesired Settlement: I only want the 120.00 refunded to me along with my prescription for my lenses so I can obtain "progressive lenses" where I purchased them before.

Response:

At this point, have you taken this to court? " I told him he would be hearing from my attorney or that I would take this matter to small claims court"

What I meant was I would be taking them to court if after hearing from [redacted] Insurance Co, Revdex.com, and my personal letter, they did nothing to resolve the problem, then I would go to court.

After hearing from these three avenues, I've given them more than enough time to rectify the problem.

Sorry, for not being explicit.

Thank you.
