Philadelphia University Reviews (3)

March 1,
Dear ***:
I am writing this letter in response to a complaint that was submitted on February 24, and assigned an ID of ***
The complaint was received from an individual to whom Philadelphia University’s School of
Continuing and Professional Studies has sent several invitations to attend information sessions regarding the Accelerated BS Degree Completion Program
My colleagues and I conduct a series of information sessions, for our adult BS degree completion program, several times per yearPrior to the sessions, I work with a mail house that sends personalized postcards to potential students to invite them to attend one of the sessionsThere are two major sources of names for the mailings: our internal database of prospective students who expressed interest in our program in the past and a compiled mailing list which I rent annually through the mail house,
I searched our internal database for the name of the complainant and was unable to locate itMy assumption, therefore, is the complainant’s name and contact information is on the compiled rental listI rent the list through the mail house, which acts like a broker and therefore does not own the compiled listThe list is owned by various sources who compile the list in a variety of waysThis is what complicates the removal of names from mailing lists
When giving mailing specifications in the future, I will request the mail house search the compiled rental list for the complainant’s name, and all variations of it, to attempt to suppress the mailing of future Philadelphia University information session invitations
If I can be of further assistance, please contact me
Thank You

Review: I have contacted their Continuing Studies office on two occasions (Dec 19, 2013 and some time in Aug/Sept 2013) to have them NOT send me any more solicitations in the mail--postcards or otherwise. I was told both times that it would be taken care of. Both times, the woman I spoke to said she had others she needed to call their list supplier about. I continues to receive these postcards and now they've started using my name with a salutation and my middle initial so I am receiving TWO annoyances at the same timeDesired Settlement: To not receive any further unsolicited mailings, event notices, etc from Philadelphia University. I want total removal from their mailings. I don't care about their mailing list supplier. When people have to call multiple times, they need a damned filter IN-HOUSE to prevent these things from going out regardless of who is on the stupid lists they receive. They know who doesn't want to receive mailings and yet they continue to mail them anyway.

Dear **. [redacted]:

I am writing this letter in response to a complaint that was submitted on February 24, 2014 and assigned an ID of [redacted].

The complaint was received from an individual to whom Philadelphia University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies has sent several invitations to attend information sessions regarding the Accelerated BS Degree Completion Program.

My colleagues and I conduct a series of information sessions, for our adult BS degree completion program, several times per year. Prior to the sessions, I work with a mail house that sends personalized postcards to potential students to invite them to attend one of the sessions. There are two major sources of names for the mailings: our internal database of prospective students who expressed interest in our program in the past and a compiled mailing list which I rent annually through the mail house,

I searched our internal database for the name of the complainant and was unable to locate it. My assumption, therefore, is the complainant’s name and contact information is on the compiled rental list. I rent the list through the mail house, which acts like a broker and therefore does not own the compiled list. The list is owned by various sources who compile the list in a variety of ways. This is what complicates the removal of names from mailing lists.

When giving mailing specifications in the future, I will request the mail house search the compiled rental list for the complainant’s name, and all variations of it, to attempt to suppress the mailing of future Philadelphia University information session invitations.

If I can be of further assistance, please contact me.

Thank You.

Review: Revdex.com's "Primary Nature of [Y]our Complaint" is insufficient. But, anyway, I receive unwanted postcard solicitations. And I get them 2 and 3 at a time. I have contacted them previously and have been informed of their convoluted mailing list problem. Don't care. I don't want to EVER receive these solicitations again. Having to make repeated call, regardless of time in between, is annoying.*Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me. Just stop. Please. For the umpteenth time.
