Review: My mother in law is recently deceased. Her name was [redacted] of [redacted], [redacted]. She contracted for a "Lifeline Communicator model 6900. This unit was to call for emergency services upon the "fall" of the victim. She fell six years ago and the automatic notification feature did not work. We complained. They exchanged the unit and assured us it would work. She fell in March and the once again the product notification did not work. She eventually died as a result of the injuries sustained and subsequent treatment. She paid extra for this feature and it simply did not work. We returned the unit as requested and requested a refund for the difference between a regular unit and this enhanced unit. Lifeline has ignored us and not returned calls. This company is disreputable at best, crooks at worst; preying on the elderly and selling products that fail to meet the buyers expectations.Desired Settlement: We would like to be contacted by someone from the company that can make a decision. We would like the difference in the subscription cost between the base unit (call for help yourself) and the enhanced auto-call (auto call if wearer falls) unit refunded to her estate.
Review: In May I purchased Lifeline for an ailing family member using my credit card and in June the family member asked to be billed directly so a call was made to Phillips Lifeline with a new billing address. The customer service representative said it would be effective immediately starting in July, however my card was automatically billed for both July and August. An invoice was never sent to the recipient requesting payment. A call was made this week to Phillips Lifeline billing department, [redacted]. She confirmed the billing address had been changed in June, then advised that the credit card was automatically billed instead and no invoice was ever sent. This is fraudulent use of a credit card device, which is illegal and carries criminal charges. I did not authorize the use of my credit card after June. At this time I am requesting immediate action from Phillips Lifeline to suspend all charges for August and send the invoice for Septembers payment to the proper recipient.Desired Settlement: Free service for August, Refund, and Send September's Invoice to the proper recipient.
Review: I just put in a complaint about this company minutes ago, about them continuing to take money out of my account ([redacted]), for their service I had for my mother-in-law, who has been placed in a nursing home - that I cancelled. Latest threat now is that they are going to take $450.00 out of my account in the next 30 days for unreturned equipment. I am in [redacted] my mother-in-law is in [redacted] - I asked them to contact the 'contact person' they have for her - which is her son, who lives in [redacted] in the same town as my mother-in-law - this is her official contact person - to give the information needed to return the equipment - customer service was very rude - says this conversation is being recorded - great - proves they refuse to do a simple task to complete the cancellation - all that seems to be left for me to do is buy an airline ticket & fly back to [redacted] - does not seem fair, when all they need to do is contact the CONTACT PERSONDesired Settlement: Contact [redacted] for account [redacted]) - to give information for returning her 11 year old equipment
