Phillips Roofing tells me the leak is caused by the skylight.  The skylight company tells me the leak is caused by the roof.  The skylight company was willing to come out and review the situation with the roofers to resolve the...

issue.  The roofers have rejected that offer.  Phillips Roofing has threatened to sue me for financial damages to their company as a result of the complaint.  Phillips Roofing has also threatened to seek criminal charges for fraud against me.

We have sent this to Kathy D Already with pictures as well.

I find this letter very disturbing coming from the Revdex.com that a gentlemen says he bought a home in 2010 from a home owner that we installed J roof on and that the lady explained to him apparently a lot of things, but never gave him a copy of the contract or warranty. I was under the impression...

for anyone to file a complaint there must be a copy of a contract between  the homeowner and the contactor for work completed and/or warranty. To my knowledge this gentleman has neither. I know I have done no work for this gentleman I do not know what he and the home owner discussed, in 2010 as I was not included or contacted about a transfer of warranty at that time. I know I cannot find a hard copy of this file, which means it would be out of warranty, once a file is 5 plus years old and out of warranty it is disposed of. By law we keep files for 5 years.

It also states that the gentleman bought the house in 2010 then he goes on to says, "it wasn't until we got some hard rain that the patio began to leak. I do know it has rain quite a bit since 2010 we even went through a terrible hail storm.

Again I find it very disturbing that Revdex.com would ever consider putting a complaint on my name without some legal documentation,  especially when the gentleman plainly states in his complaint it was a piece of paper with contact information but no warranty or proposal was supplied to the new home owner also there is the question of why did no one contact Phillips Roofing about a transfer of warranty in 2010, why it was 4 years after the house was purchased. One other issue to clarify [redacted] never said we only transfer, for people that flip homes, this is a false statement. We are sorry if he felt we ignored him as this was not our  intention

Revdex.com Regarding [redacted] Complaint No.  [redacted]As [redacted] explained, we have been out several times over a leak in her atrium, as seen in picture the double skylight is installed over the atrium that [redacted] had installed. When Phillips Roofing installed the hot asphalt roof system we extended the roof approximately 12-18 inches up on the foam area of the wall around the atrium which is code for us to do so then we sealed the hot roof to the foam roof using super putty and titec webbing which is the proper way to seal hot asphalttofoam. Prior to Saturday 12/5/2015 twice we had flooded this roof and not a drop of water comes in then we put water on the foam part of the roof. again not a drop of water comes in however; once you put water on the actual glass on the skylight the water instantly starts coming in. The men did find some holes in the foam part of the roof and out of common courtesy they had sealed it for her and explained what they did and explained to her that it is the skylight leaking not the roof however; apparently [redacted] goes out and tell her it's the foam roof apparently [redacted] told [redacted] that Phillips had re-foamed the foam area so of course [redacted] tells her it's no longer under their warranty because Phillips re-foamed it. We don't even own a foam truck as I said out of common courtesy we fixed the holes in the foam for her. After receiving a complaint from the Revdex.com that [redacted] filed, I called her and explained to her I could meet with her personally Sunday the 29th of November or Saturday the 5th and she chose Saturday the 5th. So on 12/5/2015 I personally met with her with 2 helpers. her explanation this time was her a/c company told her that maybe the leak was coming underneath the a{c unit which is approximately  12-18 inches away from the atrium as I said and as [redacted] knows we have already flooded this roof twice and not a drop of water came in as seen in the pictures I disconnected the ajc unit completely removed it and resealed everything in that area then flooded the roof again, not a drop of water come in then we put water on the foam roof surrounding the skylight not a drop of water came in. then we put water on the actual glass of the skylight again and water instantly started coming in. so I put the ac back in place. I went down to explain to her and shown her the pictures I took her exact words were she had nothing to say to me. she didn't want to see the pictures and she said it didn't matter what's leaking and that it was my fault because I didn't meet [redacted]. So now for the 3rd time we have met with this woman and showed her (not told her) but showed her that it's not the roof leaking and she just flat refuses to accept it. I called [redacted] and we had appointment set up for I LOOam- LOOpm Friday 12/18/2015 to hopefully put to rest; I even offered to fix the actual leak by caulking around the frame but explained to her that if the actual skylight is still under warranty that she should have [redacted] fix it accordingly, she did agree so I did not seal it for her.On Thursday 12/ I 7/20 I 5 [redacted] called me to explain Kathy [redacted] canceled the appointment said it was not a good day for her no explanation just not a good day. I would think after her writing the Revdex.com. the [redacted] and the [redacted] putting complaints against me. she would have the common courtesy of meeting with us however; she asked if the appointment could be rescheduled. So Angie at [redacted] has tried to schedule an appointment for 1/7/2016 so far [redacted] has not responded this can be verified with Angie at [redacted] ###-###-####Should you have further questions. please feel free to call Bill ###-###-####

Roof replacement done on both sides of duplex. Work was starred on a Tuesday and completed on the following Tuesday. It was very hot and the 4th of July weekend fell at the end of the work, so I understand that it took alittle longer. My problem was lack of communication and clean up fom the company. We were told it would be finished on Saturday but no one showed up and no phone call from the company until Sunday when they wanted the rest of their money. I told them they would get the rest when job was done, they then finished on Tuesday. I also was told when I signed the contract that the cleanup would involve using a magnets to make sure all nails were picked up. They did a cleanup but they left tar on my patio tiles, shingles in the plants, awning and eaves troughs had nails, staples, and debris in them. I called the company to let them know this and if someone could come out and look at my awning that is attached to the roof because I wasn't sure if it had been sealed. I was assured someone would stop by that day, they never did, so I called the crew supervisor and he indicated that he would stop by the next day- that never happened. My husband I have since cleaned up both sides of the duplex and removed the tar from our patio tiles.

Great price! Great work. Had roof redone and balcony sealed. Work took one week as stated in the beginning with ten year warranty. Crew cleaned up after completion. Would definitely recommend company to everyone.

Review: I have an unresolved, on-going issue with Phillips Roofing concerning a water leak into my atrium. When there is a hard rain, water drips into one corner of the atrium. It usually causes a wet spot in that corner of the atrium. In our most recent hard rain the wet spot covered most of the atrium. It appears the leak is worsening.

Phillips Roofing has responded to my calls many times. Each time I’m told the leak is fixed and will not happen again. In response to a past call that the roof was still leaking, I received a letter from my home owner’s association absolving the HOA & Phillips Roofing, stating that there is no roofing issue, that the issues were how they installed the skylight which covers the atrium. Our roofs were redone through our home owner’s association, and the skylight was in place for many years prior to the roofs being redone.

The letter suggested I have the skylight inspected. I followed through on that suggestion and requested [redacted]. (the company who installed the skylight) to come out and inspect for leaks. These were their findings: The problem appears to be with the area between the elevated framed structure and the AC unit (the area that's been tarred in). This assessment is supported by the fact that the water stains on the interior T1-11 siding begin well below the skylight itself.

Freelight, Inc. agreed to meet with Phillips Roofing for an on-sight inspection hoping to come to some resolution. I forwarded the [redacted]. contact information to Phillips Roofing but to no avail. Phillips Roofing insisted on coming out for another inspection, which they did. Of course their findings were the same, that the fault is with the skylight. When Phillips Roofing left they assured me they would contact [redacted]. for a mutual inspection and let me know how the issue would be resolved.

I hadn’t heard from Phillips Roofing for a few weeks. When I finally called them they said they had re-foamed the outside of the skylight. They never contacted or met with [redacted]. Once again I’m told there would be no more leaks.

As I mentioned above, the leak is still there and seems to have worsened. Also, because Phillips Roofing took it upon themselves to re-foam the skylight, [redacted]. will no longer be responsible for maintaining the foam covering the outside of the skylight. That burden now falls on Phillips Roofing. It was Freelight who covered the outside of the skylight with foam at installation.

I have not received any response to my most recent call to Phillips Roofing concerning the leak during our last hard rain.Desired Settlement: Fix the leak

Review: I purchase a home in 2010 from a lady who handed me the contact information for Phillips Roofing. Along with the contact information was a note that a gentleman by the name of [redacted] had issues with the roof replacement where the chimney met the patio. She informed me that the roof had a warranty that was transferable and that [redacted] was very helpful if any problems should arise. The patio had some repair work to the ceiling that was noticeable, but it wasn't until we got some real hard rain that the roof began to leak again. I called Phillips roofing and at first was ignored until my second attempt at a call. I eventually got in touch with [redacted]. She sounded less then happy to hear from me and immediately went on the defensive. She told me that the transferable contracts are only good for the types of buyers that flip homes for a living. Knowing the old tenant did not do this for a living I requested to see the old policy. I gave [redacted] my email address and she said she would email it to me. That was the last I ever heard from her and that was over a month ago. I do not have time to play cat and mouse games, and always get frustrated with that type of service.Desired Settlement: I would very much like to see the contract that was never sent to me. I would also like it if your staff would stop ignoring me. However under the circumstances I would prefer to see the man I have never been able to talk to get involved, and that would be [redacted]. Perhaps if he could take a look at the problem he might already have some idea of what needs to be done. Could be quick and easy for all we know. It would cost you some time, but would pay back with a complaint resolution.

I have used Phillips Roofing on four different occasions and was very satisfied with the price and results of their work.

I've been very pleased with the professionalism and work Phillips performed on my tile roof, TWICE. Last year, at the last moment, (in spite of their extremely busy schedule) in order for me to close on the sale of my home - they scheduled my garage re-roof on a Sunday. My home (thankfully) closed on Monday.
