Let me begin by stating that I am not telling you to not rent from the Philmoore CompanyI want you to make an informed decision before signing a lease and giving these people moneyWhen it comes to terrible service, being lied to, treated like human waste, and sued, I am not aloneTheir *** rating of 1.9, Their *** reviews rating of 1.6, the fact that no one on these sites recommend renting from any of their properties speaks for it's selfAll of the accounts of this company, or as they are referred to in many reviews "slum lords" are strikingly similarComplaints range from withholding of deposits without cause to being lied to by the leasing agent *** and screamed at by whom is assumed the property managerThis unprofessional behavior is what one has to look forward to as a renter
First the issues with the lightingThey will make claims to be fixing the fixtures in the buildingThey stated they are trying to keep with the retro feel of the buildingSo the lights that have no covers, don't work, or just don't have bulbs are in the process of being replacedIn a year and a half that didn't happenAttempt to cover up deferred maintenance? Unsafe environment for residents? You bet it isEspecially with the lack of secured entrances in what can be a less than safe area
Also in the entryway, you will be greeted by a handrail that has rusted away from it's base and is just sitting on the stoopThat has been broke since moving in and still as of the move out was just sitting there
Be prepared to use the laundromatOf the two entryways and twelve apartments here are two machines in each buildingThat would be great if they were ever workingConstantly residents from the other building were occupying the machines in my building because their side was out of orderFor months
Snow removal is nonexistentSo enjoy digging yourself outOnce all this snow is packed down enough to get back into your spot, there is a sheet of ice no less than an inch thickThis will be here until the sun gets rid of it in ***
The carpet is extremely mattedHighly doubt it has been replaced in the past yearsThe bedrooms had been replaced at separate timesSo this means three very different types of carpet that do not match in your apartmentThe blinds will only be replace when they break and they can charge the tenantMost were extremely yellowed and the new blinds looked super cool next to the horribly discolored old blinds
They require a day notice to vacateThat's fineWhen I had a date in mind to move I called ***, stated I wanted to stop by the office and put in my notice to vacateOddly I was told they do not allow you to drop off a notice and that it must be mailed to the officeAfter hanging up, baffled, I printed off a notice to vacate and handed the stamped envelope to the postman that works at my current property
Two months later, when my roommate contacted the office to drop off keys they claimed they were never informed we were moving outAt this point the older lady that works at the office became short with my roommate, arguing and raising her voice before hanging upThis spurred *** to show up at the apartment while we were moving outWe told her we would be out that night (Friday) and she stated she would call us back on Monday to discuss the situation
Monday came and went without any contactSame for Tuesday and the rest of the weekThe next contact will be from a collection agency stating that we owed $*** for breaking the lease, damages, and removal feesThey charged $** for dip pans, seriously? They charged an additional $*** for removal of garbage, claiming that I was not allowed to through broken furniture in the dumpsterThat it was not trashThey charge for two months rent cleaning and a slew of other nonsense
I tried stopping by the office to view the charges and get a better idea why the amount was so crazy highWhen I stated my name the immediately started to flip outThey kept repeating that they had to pay $*** to remove propertyThis "property" was the broken furniture that was thrown in the dumpsterThey did not like that responseI stated that *** was supposed to call and she never didThey stated she called but that was a boldface lieI told them I could pull my phone records showing them my outgoing calls to her but not receiving a single call from themThey then told me I was being a *** and to leaveI asked for my file they told me louder to leaveI insisted they give me a my file so I could see the charges and hopefully get this paid, but they continued getting more aggressive and telling me to leave and that I can get that from the collections peopleI asked for their number and the older (angrier one) kept telling me to get out*** finally handed me a chunk of paper with with seven numbers scribbled on itThen I got the cliche "we'll see you in court" as I am trying leave the dump

What a business, I have never received such terrible customer service, they will not call u back to help with any complaints, but if your rent is late they will call u, I have been renting from them, and there is a clear sign on the building that states no Pets, well my upstairs neighbor has 2 cats. I complained because that's not what I signed up for, Nothing happened until I moved out because my daughter kept having asthma attacks because she is allergic to cats. Now they want me to pay all these fees that I didn't even rack up. Sad the customer service is terrible.
