(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Phil is correct in that he DID indeed pick up the repair tab for [redacted]'s car and the price of those repairs looked correct on this email. 945.00 + 500.00 = 1450.00 total. I have no receipt RE this, but I remember.
The added repairs done to the Mitsubishi knocks back the amount owed to $550.00.
Please note change.
Patently untrue are the above statements that:
! The car ran for 2 months. Nope. It broke down at Terminal Island and [redacted] was stuck there for weeks because of it. No dice. The thing broke down immediately...AND it was never fixed for months. This is the reason I got peeved enough to challenge the 500.00 settlement.
2. [redacted] was the one who paid [redacted] for the 1997 Subaru?...[redacted] knows the story of my blowing up the engine due to the failure of the water pump and that I had the cash for a replacement car. I was the one who bought [redacted] the 1997 Subaru from [redacted]. My bank statement shows the debit.
[redacted] needs to submit the bill of sale to check the date against the debit on my bank account.
3. I never SOLD [redacted] a car??...perhaps he needs to reword?
4. The 1996 WAS donated to [redacted] to do with whatever he pleased. It is running again.. I saw it in Twentynine Palms in late June.
It was unreasonable and very inconvenient that [redacted] was forced to drive the old pickup that broke down a lot...since I just paid for a 1997 Subaru that had turned out to be a lemon and was never repaired either!!

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2015/07/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
"Blessings" aside, [redacted] sold my brother a car-which I paid for-that had a water pump problem. [redacted] was aware of the problem but did not fix the pump prior to the sale. The car broke down immediately and Marc was stuck at LA harbor for weeks because of it. [redacted] gave me $500.00 and forgave a 960.00 repair job, but this is not enough considering the extent of the inconvenience it caused. I have not "Changed my story" at all. [redacted] wound up with 2 Subaru's and $2000.00. Subtract the total reparations already paid, and that leaves leaves $550.00. I will settle for 500.00.
