Faulty Vehicle SoldThe vehicle sold to me in late November 2015, a 2007 Chevy Tahoe was said and promised to be in complete good shape. No issues mechanically or other. After the owner went back and forth with me, nickeling and diming me for more cash out of pocket to put down to make the deal; I ended up paying somewhere in the $4000 range down.(All of the cash I had) The vehicle started giving me problem within 60 days of purchase, and within 4 months, the vehicle went I to the repair shop because it was undriveable at that point. I was told that the vehicle had a bad motor, ignition coil, plugs and wires, brakes, and the cost estimated to fix was about $5000. I purchased a third party warranty on the vehicle, but the company will not pay above $3000. Thus putting me and my family out of about $2000, I am unable to pay. Had the salesman and dealership been honest about the vehicles issues, I would have never purchased it. I do believe I was taken advantage of, and sold a faulty vehicle.Desired SettlementI believe it would be fair to refund at least a portion of the money I put down as cash, to cover the expenses I am facing to properly fix the vehicle and get back in running order. Otherwise, I would like to be able to return the vehicle for a complete refund (including any and all down payments, fees, etc) in exchange for the vehicle back as-is. Business Response We have been trying to contact Ms [redacted] since december 2015 with no answer because she still owes us money. And Ms [redacted] never informed us of any issues with her vehicle for us to provide help of any kind.furthermore, North carolina is an "As is" state but we can offer to provide our cost for the repairs.(would be 40-50% cheaper)We would like for Ms [redacted] to pass by us so we can figure out a solution for her problem.

I purchased the vehicle 2 weeks ago and it can't be driven. I am a single parent with two children and I am scared it will caught on fire. The first day that I purchased the vehicle on 03/17/14 I had to call the dealership the same day with brake lights issues. on 3/18/14 I called back to the dealership because the lights on the inside and outside where cutting on and off. So I spoke with my salesman named [redacted] and he stated to bring the car back because it could be a battery issue. So I took the car back on 3/19/14 for him to check it out. He hook up a machine and the battery register low. So they charged the battery and sent me home. On 3/19/14 the check engine light, ABS light, service light came on. I called [redacted] back on 3/19/14 he stated to me that I needed to take the vehicle to either an [redacted] or [redacted] store to get it up hook up to the machine to see what the readings were. I stated on the phone the entire time and the salesman at [redacted] in Pittsboro stated that the alternator was reading low numbers. Then I let [redacted] know the issues and he asked me to get a price quote for the part that was needed. He stated that he would give me a call back after speaking with his manager. He called back about an hour later and stated that the manager stated if it was the transmission or the engine they could fix it. But by being that it was the alternator that they would not be responsible for fixing it. He then stated that he could get the companies mechanic to put the part in for $50 and that the part and labor would be no more than $120. I called back on 3/20/14 and he stated the part had not been order yet, so I called again on 3/21/14 and he stated that the part would be in by Monday morning and that I could bring back on 3/24/14 but the pricing had changed to $170. So due to them stating consisted pricing, my father stated that I needed to take the part to a specialist. So on 3/24/14 I took the alternator to [redacted] of Sanford who specialist in Starters& Alternator repairs. When I dropped off the alternator the man asked me what was going on that I needed to bring it in. I stated all of the problems that had been going on with the car. He said ok he would work on it. When I picked up the alternator on 3/27/14 I found out that the alternator was only serviced due to not needing to be repaired. The man stated that there was other "big" problems with the vehicle. On 3/28/14 I drove the car and the car started back with the same issues, lights going on and off, car cutting off, radio cutting off, check engine light came back on, and the transmission was not acting like it should with change gears. It is a lemon, it should have never been sold under false pretense. On 3/29/14 I called to speak with the manager of Phoenix Motors where the vehicle was purchased. Because I have called so many times regarding this vehicle with all the problems of this car they have figured out my phone number. When I called at 10:16 a.m. they would not pick up the phone. Once we called from a different number they pick up on the second ring. I and my father spoke with a man name [redacted] claiming to be the manager of the dealership. I told him all the problems with the vehicle and stated to him that I did what they told me to do with fixing the first problem. I then let him know that the issue that they thought was wrong with the car wasn't the problem. We asked how we could resolved the issue at hand and he stated that they would not be doing anything and that it was my fault why the car is having all these issues, because he stated that he believed in his mechanic. I immediately called my lending office at [redacted] name [redacted] on 3/31/14 to just let her know what was going on and she stated that they cashed the check and that they either needed to fix, trade, or give the money back. Desired SettlementMy final solution that I want to see with this is to get refunded of the down payment of $1,000 and all the money back from the purchase of the vehicle and undo the sale. Business Response On 3/15/2014 [redacted] purchased a [redacted] from us here at Phoenix Motors. When we receive our cars on the lot from the auction they are then taken to our mechanic to be looked over and any repairs that are needed are then made. We have a work order from 2/18/2014 that shows $750 worth of repairs that were done to the vehicle. Anytime a customer comes onto the lot for a test drive we recommend that they take the vehicle to a mechanic of their choice and have a pre-purchase inspection done on the vehicle so if there is anything wrong or needing repair we can work that out before the deal is done. [redacted] test drove the vehicle and to our knowledge decided not to have it looked at by a mechanic before purchasing. During the paperwork process [redacted], which was her salesman, explained our Warranty options to [redacted] in which she opted out of and signed our Waiver of Service Contract that states she has declined the Warranty and will be responsible for the full cost of any repairs that may need to be done later on. [redacted] also signed the AS IS Buyers Guide that also states there is no warranty and the customer will pay full cost of any repairs. Consumer Response Phoenix motors never told me anything about being able to go and let a mechanic check out the vehicle prior to purchase. I am the one that asked to test drive the vehicle. We didn't even have enough gas in the vehicle to drive it any distance. We only had enough to drive down the street and right back to the dealership. It was a lock on the gas tank so we couldn't put gas in. I am presently am taking this car to a Chystler dealership to have a diagnostic to see what problems are presented with the vehicle, because I am still not able to drive the car. I would like to see the copy of the worksheets from the dealership of items fixed by the dealer. Will be back in contact with the results of the Chystler dealership diagnosis.

On May 8, 2014 I purchased a 2001 Infiniti QX4 from Phoenix Motors. I was stupid and did not ask to drive the car overnight and get a mechanic to look it over. I bought the car that day but the driver's side seat did not work so the vehicle was left overnight to have the seat fixed. By the time I picked it up next day I was to have the owners manual and extra keys. To this day do not have either of those items. Within the next week I had to buy 4 new tires (tires on vehicle had dry rot and were not safe to be on the road); new brakes and was told by [redacted] Infiniti that the vehicle needed 4 catalytic converters (cost approximately $3,000) and both motors were burned out in the front seats (same one that Phoenix Motors supposedly fixed before I took the vehicle home). The vehicle had been inspected 8 days before I bought it and supposedly passed. It turns out I bought a vehicle that could only be driven for the one year since Phoenix Motors had inspected it. I took it this","neg-2

Bought a car and the dealers were not upfront about the car they greased the wheel so the problem was not easily detectedI bought a car from this place on a Wednesday night and Friday afternoon I hear a popping noise in the wheels. Since I had to work that Saturday I sent my son to take the car back so they could hear and fix the problem. They told my son the manager wasn't there and they would give me a call so on Monday I still hadn't gotten a call so I went by the lot and was given the run around about having to talk to the owner. Today I stopped by and they said the same thing. So I called them back at 530 and they told me its my problem I bought the car. Bought car 12/10/14 heard problem on 12/12/14 took car back following day. Paid 7076 for the car. [redacted]Desired SettlementTo fix the problem with the wheelBusiness Response First we would like to address the issue of greasing a wheel. We did not grease a wheel and we do not make attempts to hide issues that a vehicle may have. All cars are sold as is. Customer was interested in car. She took the car for almost a 2 hour test drive. When she returned to the lot, she was very pleased with the car and wanted to purchase it. We informed her that we would be more than happy to sell her the car, but before we did that, we were aware that the car needed a rear differential bushing that needed to be replaced. We had the part already ordered and on hand before she took the vehicle to test drive. We replaced the bushing before selling her the car. After replacing the bushing, the customer was offered to test drive the car again. She put it in reverse and drive and said she was satisfied. If we are aware of a problem, we fix it, before selling a car. That being said, the cars are still sold as is. During the sale and showing of the car, the salesman even stated that we have no problem with her taking the car to her mechanic before purchasing it. Also, the customer was offered to purchase a warranty during the sales process, she declined it. Also, we do not know if the repair is needed due to misuse by the customer. We stand by our decision to not make the repair as the car is sold "as is".Consumer Response The two hours I had the car was to get it insured the remainder of the wait time was them fixing the car. I was never told that I could take the car to someone and have it checked out that would have definitely been a red flag. But this car lot seems like they care more about taking your money than your return business. With that being said I think the attorney general office should be the next step.

After having a bad experience at a few other dealerships I went to Phoenix Motors Phoenix Motors and was treated just as a customer should be they took their time with me and felt no pressure at all of buying a car. I told them I wanted to get it checked by my mechanic and they happily give me a four hour window to take it and get it checked out. I felt like they understood how important it was for me to buy a good car as a single mother of two. They even offered me a warranty that only cost me an extra $27 a month built into my car payments. This is the way car buying should feel like I appreciate all they've done for me and I love my new car and I most definitely will be purchasing my next vehicle from them. Thank you Phoenix Motors and Phoenix Motors","pos-1

I put down a deposit on a vehicle at Phoenix Motors Inc. They sold the vehicle to another customer within 2 weeks and will not return my deposit. On approx. 12-8-2015 I went to Phoenix Motors to look at a 2006 Nissan Armada that I saw advertised online. I test drove the vehicle and then explained to the salesman [redacted] that I was waiting on a settlement to come through before I could purchase the vehicle and it could take up to thirty days before I could pick up the vehicle and complete the purchase. The salesman told that was no problem and told me if I was to put a $500-$1000 deposit down on the vehicle it would be held for me and no longer advertised for sale. On 12-10-2015 I put down $360 on the vehicle and on 12-14-2015 I put another $140 totaling $500 the salesman requested to hold the vehicle. They did not stop advertising the vehicle as for sale and when I called the dealer to tell them I was ready to pick the vehicle up approximately 3 weeks later I was told by the salesman [redacted] that the vehicle was being serviced and he would call me back when it was finished. Approximately 2 weeks later the salesman called me back and said that the dealership could not produce a title for the vehicle that I put the deposit down on but they had another vehicle that had just came in same make as the vehicle I put down the deposit on but that vehicle was $3000 higher. I went to the dealership and looked at the vehicle on the lot and determined what I felt that the vehicle they were trying to sell me was not worth the price they was asking. I felt like they had sold the first vehicle and when I asked the salesman for my deposit back the salesman told me that he would take to the owner and call me. After waiting for another 4 days I went to the dealer after I got off work and when I spoke with the owner/manager he told that my deposit was only good for 7 days and I was not entitled to get my money back. The owner/manager then admitted to me that the vehicle I put the deposit down on was actually sold. After that I realized that was the reason the why the salesman was stalling and lying about the vehicle that I put the deposit down on until they got another similar vehicle.Desired SettlementI would like my deposit back and wish to do no further business with this establishment. Business Response Mr [redacted] did put a deposit on a vehicle at our dealesrship on 12/08/2015 for us to hold a Nissan armada, and he promised to purchase the vehicle a pay the rest of the amount cash within 2-3 weeks.Mr. [redacted] returned to our dealership after 3 weeks with a vehicle to trade in. He asked for $3500 for his trade in while its book value was $1500 based on NADA. We did not accept his trade in, so he promised to get the rest of the money to close his purchase within one week.We never promised to hold the car beyond this point, but we promised that if the vehicle was still available when he gets the payment he can still use his deposit towards it, but if the vehicle was sold he can still use his deposit towards any car he wants that we have for sale. Mr [redacted] returned two weeks after and asked us if we can finance the vehicle beacause he could not get the cash. Our financial manager tried his best to get him approved through one of the third party lenders with no luck. The vehicle was sold after 48 days since Mr [redacted] put a deposit, and we have clear that all deposits are not refundable. We offered and still offer Mr [redacted] to use his deposit towards any vehicle in our inventory till february 15/2016, noting that all our vehicles are priced below NADA book value and all our vehicles are in very good condition and have passed NC state inspection.Consumer Response This dealership is not truthful in any part of their response and I intend to prove they are deceptive in this response just as they were not truthful in the agreement that was set up for the purchase of the vehicle I intended to purchase. That is the reason I wish to do no further business with this dealership. I put the deposit down on 12-10 and 12-14 as I stated.I have the receipts signed by the salesman and the vehicle was sold within two weeks after the deposit was made.Final Business Response As we mentioned before, we don't hold vehicles for more than one week, but we promised to give Mr [redacted] more time and we did.Mr [redacted] promised to pay the purchase price, but he first returned with a trade in, and then after a whole month he returned to ask us if we can finance the amount.as we mentioned before, we would like to help Mr. [redacted] by enabling him to use his deposit towards any vehicle on our dealership which are inspected and below NADA book value.

purchased a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 4x4 on 18 June 14 work then. Missing Driver side Axel,All four brakes and rotors gone out, and Six engine lights on.18 June 14, my wife purchased with a bank loan a 03 Dodge ram 1500 V8 4x4 for $8304.00 from Phoenix Motors from a sales rep named [redacted] told us nothing was wrong with the truck and we test drove and seemed all was good. 22 June 14 it starts shaking violently and a little noise. 23 June 14 Six check engine lights come on and shaking gets worse, along with a longer stopping time when braking. 23 June 14 took truck to a shop and to find out, the 4x4 truck we purchased is a 2 wheel drive because drive side Axel has been sheered off, All four brakes and rotors are completely out with metal shavings all over the wheels from the rotor being so bad and rubbing. Five check engine lights on computer were 2 fuel evaporation leakages, 3 Random miss fires. We contact the dealership and they tell us there's nothing they can do and they have no idea what we are talking about. What stands out to my wife and myself is that this Truck was inspected on 11 June 2014 and passed with 2 Fuel vapor leaks and all four brakes and rotors completely out. The driver side axle has been sheered off the shop told us and by someone knowing what they was doing to jam the wheel bearing so it would not come off. They Truck is unsafe to drive on a public road and could get my wife or someone hurt. We were lied to about the trucks condition and it being a 4 wheel drive with only capabilities of a 2 wheel drive and passed a North Carolina Safety Inspection unlawfully.Desired SettlementEither the truck being completely fixed of the problems when told there wasn't any, Exchanged for a vehicle of the same value and we present for a FULL inspection, or a Refund

Set up a meeting to buy a van from Phoenix motors. I don't live in Raleigh so I had to travel about an hour to get there. Meeting was set for 11am, I arrived at 1050am. Just in time to watch someone else drive off with the van I wanted to purchase. No apologies, no "sorry for wasting your time/gas/Saturday morning." Only thing that was said was "they came from Virginia and wanted it." Thanks for taking ownership of the sleezy, self-centered stereotypes of used car salesmen, Phoenix Motors. Much luck to you in the future! ","neg-1
