In reference to complaint #***, the company is in agreement with the complaint that we were accidently at the neighbor’s house prior to making the delivery of gallons to the correct addressAs evidenced by the delivery ticket and the driver of the delivery, we did deliver gallons to the complainants’ house. As stated in the previous response from our company, if the driver does not hear the tank “whistle” he is instructed to stop filling the tankThe whistle is a blow back sound from the tank and not actually a “whistle”If the tank had been overfilled, it could have caused a lot of damageTherefore, our safety policy is for the driver to stop when he feels the tank is full as to not cause unnecessary damage to the customer’s property. The attached copies of the delivery tickets reflect the initial gallon error (delivered to the neighbor) and the gallons delivered to the complainant’s addressThere are two invoice numbers and several minutes between deliveries further showing the error was discovered and corrected.Picklner Fuel Company is very sorry for the confusion surrounding this deliveryThe customer was not charged for any fuel given to the neighbor or anyone elseWe only billed the customer for the amount that was delivered to their tank.Sincerely,Picklner Fuel Co., Inc

I am rejecting this response because:  My tank does not have a whistle!!!   The driver was in my neighbors driveway between the time stated on the receipt:   11:15 to 11:25.AM  I had to be to work, 8 miles from my home at 11:30 AM, therefore I had to leave directly after I walked over to the neighbors home inquiring as to whether he was at the correct address and he was not.  Not only did he acknowledge that he was not at the correct address but his office also ackknowledged to me that he was at the wrong address and also stated that he put 11 gallons in over there and 25 in over here.  My neighbor did not order fuel that day, as per talking to my neighbor.  I have pictures of the drivers footprints in the snow at my neighbors tank on the day I ordered a delivery.  To ,my knowledge a fuel truck computer does not allow a truck to just rqandomly go put fuel in at different addresses and collect from whomever they please.  I told the driver when I spoke to him in my neighbors driveway that our check was in the door as I left for work approsimately at 11:20 AM.............there was no check in the neighbors door as the driver stated to me.  He evidently was advised to take our check for $295.00 for 25 gallons of fuel they put in my neighbors tank for $75.00.  I stopped payment on the check only after I called their office and it became apparent to me that they are lying to me.  This is not the first time this has happened here it is just the first time I was home to understand why I did not get the amount of fuel I ordered.   My tank has no whistle.......same thing they told me the first time...........I got a different tank that time but this time I know my tank doesn't have a whistle.  I was on my way out my door to leave for work, put the fuel check in the door,  when I noticed the fuel truck in my neighbors driveway, hose on the ground when I thought I had better go over there and inquire as to whether Nittany and A-1 were the same company, he said yes, that is how I know what time it was I had to bbe to work at 11:30.

In reference to complaint # [redacted], after researching the deliveries and speaking with the driver in question, we found our record of delivering heating oil in the amount of 25.7 gallons to the complainant to be true. According to the complainant, she left after the delivery of 11 gallons was made...

to the neighbor’s house. She was not home to witness the delivery of 25.7 gallons of heating oil to the correct address. I have included in this letter a copy of the original delivery ticket to show that we did deliver to the correct place. The driver was also questioned to make sure that he was at the correct address. His statement supports our record of delivery. In regard to the reason she only received 25.7 gallons of the 100 gallons that she ordered is due to our safety procedures. If the driver does not hear the tank “whistle” he is obligated to stop filling the tank. The whistle is a blow back sound from the tank and not actually a “whistle”. If the tank had been overfilled, it could have caused a lot of damage. Therefore, our safety policy is for the driver to stop when he feels the tank is full as to not cause unnecessary damage to the customer’s property.Sincerely,Cory M[redacted]Oil Operations ManagerPicklner Fuel Co., Inc Division of Nittany Oil Company
