I found the exact used car I wanted to buy in their inventory so called first thing on a Monday morning to schedule a meeting after work to go buy it (after a 2-hour drive for me)The car has been on the market for a few weeksI spoke to the Used Car Sales Manager Anna at length and made it very clear that I planned to buy it and we worked through all of the appraisal details of my current car during the dayShe was going to be gone when we arrived so she connected us over email with Sales Mgr Todd and salesperson Michelle for our appointmentApparently, word spread around the sales floor that someone was making a 2-hour drive to buy the car that evening - another salesperson must have started making calls to others interested to begin a bidding warBy the time we were halfway there, there was 'coincidentally' another serious buyer who would be there in minutes to buy the carWe made a quick decision to put a deposit on the car while driving there and tried to reach someone - anyone - who would take our call and our moneyTodd and Michelle refused to take our call - they must have been busy talking up the competition to the first couple who arrived, basically using us as pawns in this competition gameThen, by the time we got there, another 'coincidence' happened where another couple showed up to buy it They had apparently also been used as pawns to drive up the priceWe confronted Todd about this gaming and competition tactic they used but he denied it, trying to say it was all just a coincidenceHowever, the salesperson (didn't get his name) who made the actual sale looked incredibly guilty and smug, wouldn't make eye contactI'm sure he was guilty - coincidences like this don't happen on a random Monday evening for a car that has been sitting for weeksThey wasted a day of my time and a tank of gas just so they could drive up the sale priceDon't trust them or anything they say!

I found the exact used car I wanted to buy in their inventory so called first thing on a Monday morning to schedule a meeting after work to go buy it (after a 2-hour drive for me). The car has been on the market for a few weeks. I spoke to the Used Car Sales Manager Anna at length and made it very clear that I planned to buy it and we worked through all of the appraisal details of my current car during the day. She was going to be gone when we arrived so she connected us over email with Sales Mgr Todd and salesperson Michelle for our appointment. Apparently, word spread around the sales floor that someone was making a 2-hour drive to buy the car that evening - another salesperson must have started making calls to others interested to begin a bidding war. By the time we were halfway there, there was 'coincidentally' another serious buyer who would be there in 15 minutes to buy the car. We made a quick decision to put a deposit on the car while driving there and tried to reach someone - anyone - who would take our call and our money. Todd and Michelle refused to take our call - they must have been busy talking up the competition to the first couple who arrived, basically using us as pawns in this competition game. Then, by the time we got there, another 'coincidence' happened where another couple showed up to buy it. They had apparently also been used as pawns to drive up the price. We confronted Todd about this gaming and competition tactic they used but he denied it, trying to say it was all just a coincidence. However, the salesperson (didn't get his name) who made the actual sale looked incredibly guilty and smug, wouldn't make eye contact. I'm sure he was guilty - 3 coincidences like this don't happen on a random Monday evening for a car that has been sitting for weeks. They wasted a day of my time and a tank of gas just so they could drive up the sale price. Don't trust them or anything they say!
