Review: I bought my cruise at the last day of my previous cruise last year (Dec-*-2013) with Pied Piper Travel for a cruise on November **, 2014. I was supposed to have the 3 packages (beverage, gratuities and 250 credits on board) Pied Piper has cancelled my reservation in September 2014 and didn’t reimburse me the 500$ deposit. When I thought I was making the final payment, they re-book me on that cruise (October) and I got nothing, except a more expensive cruise. I was informed the second day of my cruise of that situation.

Pied Piper sends a lot of emails per week to advertise their different offers. In one of those emails, one in September was the confirmation my reservation (that is what they said). It was my 4th cruise with them, they have my number and they didn't call me. They aren't open to negotiation. Their answer was, and I quote: “It is my responsibility to open each email that we send you and it is not our fault if we send all those email per week to promote our vacation”.Desired Settlement: I'm willing to negotiate to find a fair compensation for both of us, and remove my name from your mailing list.

Review: I booked another cruise (for November 2015) while on board a cruise. After returning home (and several months later) I received a request to provide Pied Piper (PP) with the reservation details. I am booked in a Concierge class which is currently sold out for the upcoming cruise. [redacted] would not charge any cancellation fee because it is more than 90 days from departure. PP, however, charges a $75 cancellation fee because it is now considered a "group booking cancellation" because I provided them the information for my reservation. After several emails to PP and several calls to [redacted], I have cancelled the reservation. On my most recent call to [redacted] group reservations the representative stated that even she was surprised by the steep cancellation fee, especially since it is more than 90 days from departure and it is currently a class in which there are no rooms available. I will not use PP again for any reason, but instead will take care of my own bookings. BEWARE!Desired Settlement: Refund of the unconscionable $75 cancellation fee!

Response:

In response to [redacted]'s complaint, I must point out that it is noted on our reservation form, that he completed online, that there is a $75 cancellation fee for cancellations of any group reservation confirmed by our agency more than 75 days prior to the cruise. The reservation form he completed is on our website at the following address:[redacted]Here is a copy of the cancellation fees schedule on the form he completed:DEPOSITS, FINAL PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION SCHEDULE PER PERSONDeposit Due at time of booking (Cancellation Fee $75) / Final Payment Due 75 days prior to sailing (Cancellation Fee 50%) / No Refunds 60 days prior to sailing. He completed the form and agreed to the terms and conditions on March *, 2015. Here's a copy of his electronic signature/authorization:ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE / AUTHORIZATIONI verify that I am at least 21 years of age. I have read the above terms and conditions and acknowledge I have been offered travel insurance.Passenger 1 [redacted], 2015-**-**Therefore, it is our position that he has agreed to our terms and conditions and is subject to the $75 cancellation fee as outlined in the reservation form he completed. We can't cancel his reservation until he acknowledges this by email to our office. When he does, we will cancel his reservation and he'll receive a refund of his $500 less the $75 cancellation fee. Thank you,Derek B[redacted]PIED PIPER TRAVEL

This is a horrific travel agency to deal with. The staff is rude, they lie and scheme to take your money, then they don't deliver as promised. In my case, I was booked with Pied Piper on the [redacted] ship for a 7 night Caribbean cruise. Several months before the cruise, [redacted] was offering free or almost-free cabin upgrades. I called [redacted] several times and they kept telling me "yes" we have upgrades available, but since you booked through Pied Piper Travel, they have to call and request an upgrade. When I contacted Pied Piper, a few days later [redacted], the [redacted], would email me back and tell me there were no upgrades available. Then I would call [redacted] back and they would tell me there were many upgrades available. So I would email [redacted] back and tell him what [redacted] told me. Again, he would email me back in a few days saying no upgrades were available. This went on for weeks, with [redacted] telling me Yes and [redacted] at Pied Piper telling me No. So I ended up taking the cruise in my original cabin. All the Pied Piper entertainment, which was very little, was awful. A boring [redacted] interview, a poor singer voted off [redacted] years ago and a really bad costume party on the pool deck one night. All terrible. Here is the kicker though. When I returned from my cruise, I sent a certified letter to [redacted] asking them to investigate my issues with an upgrade and why I was denied one whenever Pied Piper called. Here is what I was told. All phone calls to [redacted] from travel agents are recorded and logged into out computer system. There were no calls from [redacted] or anybody at Pied Piper requesting an upgrade. So, [redacted] lied to me about calling and asking for an upgrade, which is a deceitful way to run a business. Any travel agent should be looking out for their customer's best interests, but Pied Piper does not. Do yourself a favor and don't book any travel with Pied Piper Travel. You will regret it.

Review: Made a reservation per the promotion terms to receive the on board credit and a standard alcohol package. Failure to deliver the terms of the promotion.Desired Settlement: Meet the terms of the promotion that was stated at the time of the booking.
