Review: Several months ago I had injured my right arm. My Dr. said I should have an MRI done. A fellow employee told me to use Piedmont Imaging. My fellow employee said Piedmont Imaging would only charge me co pay for the procedure. I contacted my Orthopedic and told them about Piedmont Imaging and how I was told it would only cost me a $25 co pay. My Orthopedic Dr. office called Piedmont Imaging to make sure this was correct before my scheluling same. Piedmont Imaging told my Dr's office that it would only be a $25 co pay. I made my appointment and upon having the procedure done I asked them about the money once again. The person who was doing the billing told me that it would only cost me the $25 co pay.A few months later I receive a bill for $593.78. I contacted Piedmont Imaging to address the issue. I spoke with a gentlemen and explained the situation and he said he would have it looked into. A few more months go by and I start receiving phone calls about the $593.78 bill.I called once again and talked to someone who basically told me I was responsible for the balance. The person said I had to obligate to their terms of payment or I would be turned over to collections. I tried to explain to her that I could not make the obligation because of my low/fixed income. I told her I could sent them what I could afford each month until the bill (which shouldnt even exist) was paid in full. She once again said I must obligate the monthly bill or I would be turned over to collections.I think this is poor business practice because they told me and my Dr. that the only fee would be the $25 co pay. Now I am stuck with a $598.78 bill that I can not afford or they are going to ruin my chance of buying a home in the future.Desired Settlement: Im about to obligate myself to pay them $50 a month,to which I can not afford,to keep them from reporting me. I would like whatever part of the bill is left upon your handling this ussue to be forgiven. I was told twice that the only money required would be $25 and that was a lie.
