Mr *** received an estimate on 1/20/accepted the proposal and decided to cancel the job the day before we were to
show up to begin work I received a call from Mr*** in October and advised during our initial meeting in January 2014, his estimate was no longer validOur estimate was only good for days from the date providedI did though however sympathize why he was forced to wait to have the work completedIn October our pier prices increased to $1,200/ pier as a result of the fluctuating price of steel; therefore, I agreed to split the price difference from $and $to $1,000/ pierAgain please be reminded the original bid was given January and the customer contacted me October (year and months later) to complete the jobAs time had now passed, there was further damage to his home since the original bid was provided and the home needed piers vs piers as stated on the bidThe customer indicated he was not financially able to afford the piers and wanted to go through with the piers and complete the additional piers at a later dateI conceited and went through with piersOn the day of the project Mr*** requested that we take multiple measurements as the project was in process in which our office has retained this documentationOur documents indicate the structure did not lift more than 1"After the project was completed, Mr*** contacted our office multiple times regarding his concernsMr*** has talked to and we have inspected his home multiple times to try and alleviate his concernsPierMagic hired an independent structural engineer to provide and independent report on the damage that Mr*** alleges our company causedPierMagic retains this report; however, I call to your attention the following:
"Deck post needed shim per homeowner shim appears to be 5/8"-3/4"Comment- the deck has a 2xband board that is attached to the houseThere is a center support and a support at the end of the deckThe center support is about 12" closer to the house than being directly at the centerLifting the house little less than 10/8" to 12/8""
The Synopsis of the report is below-
"Final
This home has received serious damage due to water run offFortunately, the home owners has taken the necessary precautions and due the repairs to the damagesHopefully, at this point, there will not be any further repairs needed relative to the problemI do not see a connection of the kitchen walls, the garage drywall cracks or the front porch beam rotationI believe these issues are typical of maintenance to the home and are not connected to the piering."
PierMagic stands behind all work and statements madeIf Mr***'s engineer disagrees with the findings of the independent third party P.Ethat PierMagic hiredWe invite him to produce this information so PierMagic can refute this absurd accusationPierMagic will not be refunding Mr*** any monies at this timeWe are happy to make the our P.Ereport available to the Revdex.com for further analysis if necessary as well as any arbitrator or Lawyer who may requests this information."

I recently had to deal with my garage sinking into the mud of Missouri. Pier Magic responded promptly to my request for a quote and came out quickly. Thorough and concise they walked me through the science of the fix, explained how the entire work would be done. The work was quick. professional and most importantly neat muddy as it was. The crew was easy going and helpful answering my constant questions. I give Pier Magic a 100% on this work. They know their stuff. Even the quote was so competitive it blew away the other 2 quotes I had gotten. Totally recommend this company and this team. Great experience!

Fantastic company and product - needed concrete pads leveled 2 to 4 inches. Work was done perfect and I couldn't be happier. Will definitely use them again and recommend to anyone that needs concrete leveled.

We had Pier Magic out 2 years ago to diagnose our front porch that was settling and pulling away from the house. They explained that the weight of the porch itself along with ground settlement was the cause of the settlement and recommended installing piers as it was a lifetime fix. I Signed the contract and allowed work to begin the crew was courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. They took great care to not ruin the landscape that was already there and return everything to its original condition. The porch actually went back to where it was and the cracks and gaps on my columns were closed up. It has been a little more than 2 years ago now and everything is still where Pier Magic said it would be. I am very satisfied with this fix as well as the cement leveling they did around my pool. I know longer have trip hazards around the pool. This company does what it says it is going to do and I highly recommend them for repairs to your home.

I had 5 DynaPiers installed and some cracks injected in my unfinished basement. The crew was prompt to arrive, called when they were going to be delayed and kept to the schedule I was told upfront before the job was started. The crew was courteous and left the work area clean upon job completion. One minor issue came up during the work and Pier Magic was more than helpful in getting it resolved and in a timely manor. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again for foundation repairs.

PierMagic would like to apologize to [redacted] for the inconvenience this has caused. PierMagic also will be refunding all of [redacted]'s $1225.00 with check going into mail today 09/15/2016.In addressing the issues within this complaint. I was not involved in the discounting discussion I can say however...

that is and was rectified immediately once [redacted] brought this to my attention.  PierMagic does not condone dishonest practices and all parties that were involved have been reprimanded. The delay in processing the check to [redacted] is a simple processing error. Albeit that is not an excuse only an over site. I would like to offer our apologies again for the inconvenience.

Pier Magic worked on our patio yesterday and we are more than pleased with the result. Very professional and went out of their way to make a small change to the project that gave us the look we wanted. Would recommend them.

PierMagic completed the work that Mrs [redacted] referenced in her complaint. There was an equipment malfunction and we had to...

reschedule the work. This project was completed on 9/24/2014 PierMagic leveled and void filled the patio in the rear of the home with high density polyurethane. There were not any cracks in the patio when our technicians left the site. PierMagic received payment in full on Oct 1 2014 at which point we sent the warranty and paid invoice to the [redacted]'s. The project was completed to their satisfaction. On 10/20 Mrs. [redacted] called the office to inform us of the issue. I arrived at the [redacted]'s on 11/3/2014 at 12:20 pm to assess their concerns. I realized that after completion of our work another contractor came in to perform retaining wall work just a few feet from the patio we repaired and drove heavy equipment with pallets of stone over the same area. We have no control over other contractors and don't know if it was misuse of equipment or if something extremely heavy was dropped on the affected area. This is what caused the crack not inferior product or misrepresentation. I spoke with Mrs. [redacted] and explained this to her I recommended that the contractor that damaged the patio would be who I would ask to fix the affected area. Mrs. [redacted] insisted that we repair the concrete and that we had lied to her. I expressed to her at that point that we stand behind our work 100 percent but could not repair damages caused by a third party at no fault of PierMagic's.

The business response is not 100 percent accurate, they verbally told use that their product wouldn't crack under light equipment like bobcats. We specifically hired them because they told us the product they sold us was better than mud jacking. We paid them extra to stabilize our patio before we had the retaining wall redone and they told it wouldn't be a problem. Every one of their representatives told us that. They also didn't send the invoice or warranty like the claimed. It seems the part that failed didn't have the product under it. I just want the patio fixed to the quality they promised. I also want the paid invoice and warranty that they didn't send.

The patio was repaired appropriately. Why is the contractor that actually caused the damage not being pursued in the repair of their mistake? We stand behind our product 100 percent however we are unfortunately unable to repair something that a third party that was not contracted through us has broken. PierMagic does not mislead our customers in anyway and would not have stated that the corner of the patio is strong enough to withstand heavy equipment and materials. PierMagic's team is trained and well versed in the application of all of our products. We are very empathetic to Mrs. [redacted] issue and have offered to recommend concrete contractors for her to utilize in her repair. However after an internal investigation PierMagic's stance is that of we are not to blame for any damages to the patio. PierMagic has resent the paid invoice and warranty via [redacted]

Although the Revdex.com has stated they are closing this case because the company has responded, we do not feel Pier Magic's response in any way helps to resolve the problem of standing by their verbal representations. The entire reason we paid so much money to get this done was to prepare for this exact scenario that was discussed with the sales rep at the time of the sale. After explaining to him our sole purpose in using his service he assured us that once the material had hardened it would be as solid as the ground underneath and with no spaces between the patio and solid ground. It would be as one and you could drive whatever you wanted over it without consequence. Surely he would not allow us to continue the service knowing that stabilizing our patio was the sole purpose for utilizing his company in view of the fact we explained to him the purpose of the job was to stabilize the patio so a SMALL bobcat may possibly run over part of the patio. The retaining wall contractor told us from the start they would not be responsible for any damage to the patio. That is the reason we discussed with Pier Magic the bobcat situation specifically. We were assured there would be no problem with the small equipment if it accidentally happened. When I questioned the manager after the damage, he kept telling me, "Where is that written?". He's correct. It's not legally written in the warranty. Our advice is that if you use this company, be sure EVERYTHING is in writing since they don't stand by their verbal representations. We believe there was a gap between the concrete and dirt below making the patio unstable and that is the reason for the crack. A good company would take care of a simple, easy, inexpensive repair to satisfy their customer but they are choosing not to stand behind their product representations.
Business Response /* (4000, 23, 2015/01/02) */
PierMagic does stand behind all representations that it makes whether verbal or written. Our Sales Team and installers undergoes very in-depth training to represent all of our products including but not limited to Poly Jacking. The amount paid for this project was to raise and level the patio as well as void fill the other areas of the patio. This was completed as promised. The broken area that is in dispute is on the corner of the patio which is not designed for heavy equipment to be operated on. You cannot drive any type of equipment over the corner of a concrete slab and expect it to hold and not break. This includes a car which is relatively light in comparison to a skid steer which could weigh in excess of 10000lbs depending on the model. This would not include the weight of the stone that quite possibly was loaded onto this adding even more weight to the relatively small footprint for that amount of weight. As Mrs. [redacted] states " A good company would take care of a simple, easy, inexpensive repair to satisfy their customer" we do satisfy our customers however when we did not cause the issue and completed the project as promised PierMagic cannot pay or repair this when these issues were not caused by them. If the retaining wall would have been damaged during our installation would we not be responsible for the repairs to it or would the company that installed the wall have taken care of damage caused by a third party contractor? Again we are very empathetic to Mrs. [redacted]'s situation and have offered the names of concrete contractors for her to contact.
