Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. First and foremost, MrShas absolutely NO first hand knowledge of this situation, as he has not been involved in the matter whatsoeverIn fact, I have no idea who this individual is nor have I ever spoken with or met himHe was NOT a part of the meeting that I had with MrSlast Saturday, 9/24/16, nor has he been a part of any other instance throughout this ordealThus, any and all of the statements he made should be considered to be unreliable and null.Secondly, ONLY HALF of the documentation that MrSattached to his response was actually given to my husband at the time of salePlease note that the documentation that MrSprovided includes a merchant's copy of a credit card receipt (I've attached our customer's copy here), but he also included a copy of documentation that my husband nor I ever receivedAfter my meeting with MrStafford this past Saturday, it has come to my attention that the second document that MrShas attached is actually the back of a detailed receipt that should be given to my husband at the time of sale but was notLandon, the salesperson who assisted my husband in the store, told him that a detailed copy of the receipt would be mailed to our home within a few daysThis receipt never showed upI've also attached a blank copy of the front and back of the detailed receipt that Stafford Jeweler said that they would sendPlease also note that MrSonly included half of said detailed receipt (the back portion) and did not include a copy of the alleged detailed receipt that Stafford Jewelers said that they provided to my husband at the time of sale. I spoke with my husband when I got home from my meeting with MrSand when I showed my husband the blank copy of the detailed receipt that he should have been given, he again confirmed that he was never given such a documentIt is my understanding that *** watches are price fixed (similar to other companies, for example Apple) and therefore it is very difficult to have the price reduced or negotiatedMy husband then shared with me that Stafford Jewelers, in an effort to make the sale, evaded collecting (or paying) sales tax and instead reduced the price that wayIn order to do this, they tacked on a $"shipping fee" and pretended that they were going to ship it to another stateInstead, as you can see by the date on the credit card receipt, they handed the watch over to my husband right then and thereI have never heard of such an absurd business practice in my life and was abhorred to learn of this behaviorIn closing, I will again state that since the only document that my husband was given was the credit card receipt (attached) which states a very simple and straightforward return policy, I attempted to return the watch in the same condition in which it was purchasedDespite meeting every single criteria on that credit card receipt, Stafford Jewelers inappropriately refused my return which is a direct violation of their own written policy per said receipt. Based on the information stated herein and the documentation attached, I am rejecting the response made by the merchant as null and voidCordially,*** ***

No, this is not the agreement On that day when we were at that store, I asked Justin who was the store manager at that time that they cannot hold that loose diamond and without any deposit.it’s not really a sale at that point.I told Justin, if I decided to buy that ring Ill put them on layawaythat’s why when I get back to the store, and no longer Justin Store manager.a kind of upsetAt that timeI did not sign on any agreement, whatoever form from that store, just a verbal and he gave me the receipt where I paid the $just to hold of on that ringAlso the receipt attached on this email, I didn’t get this, this is the first time I’ve seen this receiptI thank you so much and appreciate your attention in to this matter*** *** ###-###-####

Dear Ms***In response to complaint ID *** filed by *** ***, Stafford Jewelers would like to again extend our regrets that a solution suitable to Mrs*** has not been reached as of yet. The day (June 5, 2015) that Mrs*** was in the store and made her purchase there were two associates that had assisted her, Justin, who was at the time the Assistant Manager, along with Cliff Belden a full time sales associate. Cliff has been clear that the transaction made by Mrs*** was indeed a layaway transaction and not a "hold". Stafford Jewelers does not offer a "hold" option, even with a deposit. Close to three months had passed from the time Mrs*** made her initial deposit to the time she returned to the store to cancel. Certainly not a time frame conducive to a hold. With that being said, Stafford Jewelers would be amenable to a store credit provided that the credit is used on a purchase of equivalent value. Again, Stafford Jewelers regrets not being able to offer a full refund of the deposit, but consistency in how company policies are executed is vitally important to the fairness in treatment that customers receive when shopping at our stores. I do hope that this compromise in solution is agreeable.Best Regards,David B***Stafford Jewelers

Stafford returned my trade/refund check today as I asked Please close this complaint as resolved since they've done what I requested.Thank you,***

October 1, 2015Ms***In response to the concern filed by *** "***" *** (ID number ***),Mrs*** did buy a loose diamond and a diamond ring settling from Stafford Jewelers on June 5, Mrs*** put these two items in layaway with a deposit of $which was charged
on her credit card Mrs*** return to the store in late August and requested a cancellation of her layaway The associates that were working that day were happy to honor this request, but Mrs*** wanted the entire amount of her initial $deposit refunded It was explained to Mrs*** that layaway cancelled after days is assessed a 15% restocking fee In her particular case, the total of her purchase pretax was $15% of the amount is $ It was explained to Mrs*** that the amount of her initial deposit did not meet the restocking fee therefore there would not be any refund She asked, due to per personal circumstances, that this be discussed with the owner of the company It was discussed, but the policy remains the sameAny layaway cancelled within the first days is eligible for a full refund of any deposit made at the point of purchase or any payments made within the first days After days, a 15% restocking fee is assessed on the amount of the gross purchase This policy is applicable to every layaway The polic is not only explained at the point of purchase, put it is displayed in the store at the pay counter, on every sales receipt, on every claim check, but must maintain consistency with each customer to insure that every customer is treated the same and treated fairlyStafford Jewelers would be happy to work with Mrs*** on a flexible payment plan that is more sensitive to her to her situationI have a attached a copy of Mrs***'s sales receipt and the store policies that are outlined in detail on the reverse side.Best Regards,David B***Stafford Jewelers

I have reviewed the complaint from [redacted], and I have attached a copy of our Return/Exchange policy. This watch is non returnable due to the fact that it has been worn and used; any item that has been worn or shows signs of wear is non returnable or exchangeable. The watch has scratches on...

the clasp, bezel, and leather. All of our watches are protected in shrink wrap to fully protect them before they are worn. We have offered to exchange this watch or give an in store credit to [redacted]. At the time of purchase on 5/21/2016 the customer wore the watch out of the store therefore voiding any time period that this could be returnable or exchanged. [redacted] disputed this with [redacted] two separate times, the first dispute on 6/15/2016 was for a fraudulent unauthorized charge and the second one on 8/22/2016 was for a defective item. An authorized user on any credit card is able to make purchases regardless if they are the account holder or not, therefore [redacted] has closed both of the dispute attempts in our favor, since we the merchant have been more than willing to try and solve this in a reasonable manor. We have been more than willing to let the customer exchange the watch even though it does not meet our exchange policy, however no refund will be issued.   Thank You,Landon S., Co-Manager

We gave customer full refund on this item. Thanks Landon S.Co-Manager

Stafford Jewelers did as the customer requested and gave him a credit. The pricing is from the manufacturer not Stafford jewelers but in good customer service we did credit the customer.Best Regards,
