Review: On Sept. **,2013, I contracted Pietro Pannella contracting to install a new concrete driveway. Shortly, within 3 months after the work was completed, I noticed some cracks on a few slabs leading to the rear gate. I contacted the company immediately. [redacted] said he would stop by when the weather warms up to survey the damage. On March **,2014, [redacted] arrived at my residence to survey the cracks. I showed him the pitch on the walkway leading to the rear gate was not correct and the water ponds against the garage. His response was the cold weather caused the crack, there is nothing he can do and to leave it as is. During our conversation, he mentioned if the concrete cracked within a month or two, he would have covered the concrete. He also told me if I showed him a proposal from another company that offers a warranty, he would cover the damage. He then told me, he would show me two different concrete jobs he did in the neighborhood to see if there was any cracking due to the cold. He told me if there are any cracks due to the cold then he would cover the repairs for my concrete. I immediately contacted [redacted] when I saw the first cracks within a few months. I provided a proposal from another company which covers a 1 year warranty for concrete work. He showed me the two concrete jobs near my residence and we both did not observe any no cracks or defects. In these instances, [redacted] made statements and then changed his mind, making false promises to avoid making the repairs. I consulted with concrete companies for a second opinion and they all advised me [redacted] should be responsible for the repairs. I emailed [redacted] on March **,2014, to come to a resolution to replace the damaged concrete slabs for $350. He agreed to return and replace the cracked slabs. For several months, I exchanged over 100 emails with [redacted] to return to replace the concrete as agreed upon. He has avoided returning as promised in the emails. On July **, 2014 I sent a certified letter stating if [redacted] does not return to replace the slabs, I would file a civil claim. On Sept **, [redacted] finally returned. He filled the cracks with concrete instead of replacing it with new concrete. I again told him about the water ponding on the walkway leading to the gate which freezes the gate shut. He told me there is nothing he can do and I will have the same issue every year. On March *, 2015, I emailed [redacted] that the cracks he filled has disintegrated and there are several more cracks on the same slabs. I expressed that there is a serious problem with the work and the concrete mix. [redacted] stated there is no guarantee and that is the chance you take with concrete.Desired Settlement: I believe there is a defect with the workmanship and the concrete. [redacted] has failed to provide me with the delivery receipt when I requested it. He places the blame solely on the cold weather, yet the other concrete jobs he showed me has no cracks or defects. I explained the pitch on the walkway does not allow water to flow away from the side of the garage. I am unhappy with the work and it is unacceptable after spending money. I would like to have the cracked slabs replaced and pitched correctly.
