Pike County Sewer District Reviews (5)

***? As per our phone conversation, the complaint lodged by Mr [redacted] stems from a late fee that was applied to his account when the November payment was received after the due date? The Pike County Sewer District bills on the last working day of the month for that month ? The payments are due by the 20th of the following month? Any payments received after the due date of the 20th, are assessed a late fee? Our late fee is 10% of the balance? As per the state auditor’s office, all payments are posted on the day that they are received in our office, regardless of whatever date the customer mailed (or claims to have mailed the check)? This applies to all of our customers, even county offices such as the [redacted] and the [redacted] which are serviced by the Pike County Sewer District? I have been employed here since Octand I have logged ? all payments ? on the date they are received? We are not allowed to credit late charges because of mail delivery? Our statements have “not responsible for mail delivery” printed on them? I realize that there are times when the customer may have indeed mailed their payment when it did seem like it surely should have been delivered in time, but it was not? I know that can be frustrating, as I have had that happen to me on more than one occasion? I know that at times, such as the holidays, the mail can seem slow due to such a high volume of mail to process? The only date we can go by is the date the payment is received? If you credited every late charge because of mail delivery, every customer would be calling in claiming to have mailed it in weeks ago? The only credits of late charges that I can make to a customer’s account, is if there has been an error on my part? Every credit must be documented and is looked at by the state auditors? ? ? I have never in years ever let payments lie unposted on my desk for the purpose of intentionally making the customer pay a late fee? I told Mr [redacted] that on the phone and he proceeded to call me a liar and ? claim that I had set out purposefully to try to rook him out of $? At that point, I hung up on him? I really do not have the time or the tolerance to have someone insult and falsely accuse me of such foolishness? While it sounds very impressive that Mr [redacted] can remember the exact date he mails all his bills from months ago, I really doubt this is true? I assure you, Mr [redacted] is treated no differently than all of my other approxcustomers.? I am truly sorry that this $late charge ($in Nov and has grown to $because he has refused to pay) has cost you valuable time?
