Review: I leased a brand new [redacted] in January 2014 at Pine Belt Chevy in Freehold. When shopping for a car, I specifically told the salesman what I was looking for- bluetooth to stream my music and auto-start. When asked what color I desired, I said black. They retrieved the car while I dealt with paperwork. Once in the vehicle, I synced my phone to the Bluetooth. The music would not play, and the salesman did not know why. I decided after being in a dealership for over four hours, I would deal with it later. Upon research I came to discover that the Bluetooth did not stream music, only phone calls. I called the dealership four days after, January 15th, and was told there was nothing they could do. I contacted **, and the woman explained I would have needed to get the MyLink package. I then asked why [redacted] was putting outdated software in their brand new vehicles. She said it was not outdated, I would just need an upgrade. I then asked again if [redacted] is not putting outdated software in vehicles, why would I need to upgrade? She had no answer but to recommend I contact the dealer-- AGAIN. I called the dealer, for the receptionist to answer "Uh, yeah?" I responded with "Uh, yeah? Excuse me?", and then explained the issue. I was transferred to service. Then I was transferred to sales. Then I was transferred back to the desk. Then I was transferred to finance before being further disgusted by incompetence.

Connect your compatible smartphone to the 2015 [redacted] with Bluetooth wireless technology† and get access to your music, contacts, hands-free calls and more. Bluetooth connectivity for your phone is standard on every model and allows you to enjoy the ride that much more while keeping your hands safely on the wheel.

If you have an [redacted], you can also complete an array of hands-free tasks using [redacted]. You can text, call, ask for directions, even send email. Just push a button on the steering wheel and direct [redacted] using voice commands.

^Copied from the [redacted] website.Desired Settlement: The copied information above from the [redacted] website is regarding the 2015 model, the same was said for the 2014 model. All I asked was to receive the product requested, and [redacted] as well as Pine Belt has failed to do so. When requesting they rectify the issue, I was shunned. In 2009, ** filed for bankruptcy, and it is not surprising to see why. After the way I've been treated, I will no longer be purchasing from a Pine Belt location nor will I do business with **. According to [redacted], the 2014 [redacted] has five recalls already. Upon further research, [redacted] reported that ** recalled 26 million vehicles in 2014 despite selling only 14 million the past 5 years. That doesn't speak very well for a vehicle. At the ripe age of 26, I will be purchasing many more vehicles in my lifetime, and with social media, many people know of my displeasure with this entire encounter. You would think ** and Pine Belt would cater to their younger consumers in hopes of creating a lifelong relationship.

Response:

Unfortunately we no longer own [redacted] and do not have access to their files / deal jackets. As a result I can't confirm the claims made by [redacted]. Usually I could see notes in the file as to the customer wants and needs or have the ability to ask the salesperson if what [redacted] is saying is actually true. As a result I'm prepared to offer the consumer $500 for their complaint.[redacted]
