We reached out to the consumer who agreed to pay a $300 hazmatfee for us to deal with the excessive feces found on the floor and smeared on the walls in every room ofthe home. His credit card was charged at that time.A few hours later, the maintenance staff from the apartment complex entered the home and explainedthat the tenant would not be receiving any of his security deposit back due to the deplorable conditionof the residence. We confirmed with the maintenance team that regardless of how well we cleaned theapartment the resident would still be charged his security deposit as well as for full flooringreplacement because of the presence of feces. We were advised by the maintenance team to stopcleaning at that time and we decided to refund both the hazmat fee and more than half of the originalcleaning fee because the unit had not been completed at that time. Our primary goal at this point was totake care of the resident - a soldier at our local army base - so that he was not charged for servicestwice.We immediately phoned the resident and explained the situation, as well as informing him that becausewe were not typically open on the weekends, it would be several hours until the refunds could beprocessed. Between 11am and 5:30pm, the customer called both owners on their cell phones 5 timesand sent threatening text messages because the refund was taking too long. He was told each time thatthe owner who needed to process the refund had a second job and was currently at work, but that therefund would be processed as quickly as possible that evening. The refund for the full disputed amountwas processed at 6pm on the date of sale and the customer was immediately emailed receipts of alltransactions.Sincerely,Pine Camp Services
