This customer was rude and disrespectful immediately upon entering our restaurantWhen he asked to change seats, the wait staff helped him to do so, despite him making several loud complaints along with being rude and condescending to the wait staffAs for the tablecloth, the table was sitting outside on a patio, and thus the wind sometimes moves around the clothsNo one has ever had any complaints about a cloth not being perfectly straight, as they are sitting outside in beautiful, sunny Santa Barbara.I pride myself in ensuring that my food is of the freshest and highest qualityI stand by making my food from scratch for every meal, which means that it will take a little longer to prepareIn fact, minutes is very reasonable for a meal to be prepared, especially one containing meatIt is especially important to make sure that chicken is cooked thoroughly to prevent the risk of any illnessIn the past years of doing business here, I have never had any complaints about the time it takes to prepare my food, as customers know they are getting the best quality mealIn fact, I have never received complaints about anything of this nature.Any dietary restrictions that you may have should be brought up to the wait staff when orderingIt is not their responsibility to list every single ingredient in a dish that someone might be allergic toIt is the customer’s responsibility to ask, and the wait staff is able to then tell the customer what the dish containsOn top of this, even after discovering the dish had cream, the customer finished the entire dish without asking for a replacement[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The owners response is factually incorrect. The server did not offer to carry the menu. He was not polite. I did not finish the meal after I discovered the ingredients.

The response did not ignore any of the facts, they are actually very clear. The fact is that you finished your meal despite my staff checking up and asking if everything was okay. If you had not eaten the entire meal I would have been happy to compensate for the food, but as you finished the whole meal without asking for a replacement, I cannot offer compensation. My staff is not responsible for asking you if you have any dietary restrictions when you order. They cannot read your mind.As to your claim that I was not there and that I just accepted what my staff said, I am the owner of this restaurant and I was present and cooking in the kitchen when this whole event happened. I am here at this restaurant 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner. I saw you leave your table (table 14) holding your own menu to walk outside and pick a new table. My server asked if he could carry your menu for you and you told him a stern no. My staff was communicating with me about the entire situation as it was happening. I trust my staff, as I have spent a long time getting the best employees I can find. I trust my staff's account of what happened because they would have no reason to lie to me.You were also unreasonable to the servers, and didn't even leave them gratuity, when the situation was not their fault.
