PineTree Towing and Recovery

Thank you for the notice of this complaintPine Tree Towing would like to respond with details of what was offered to the customer.On January 24th, 2018, we were contacted for a unit with low oil pressureOur dispatcher advised the caller that this was more than likely not an issue that could be resolved roadside and would likely be wastefulHowever, the customer insisted that we send a technician outPine Tree's tech responded in a timely manner, where he checked the codes and confirmed there was internal engine damageThe low oil pressure readings were indeed accurate, and the issue was too severe to be fixed roadsideThe customer then requested a tow for both his truck and trailerThe tow was quoted at $for both the truck and trailer combinedThe customer- agreed and the-tow was-performedPine-Tree then gave payment options of EFS Check, Comdata Comchek, FleetOne Plus Chek, T-Chek, or cash; from which the customer opted to pay with cashWe charged $for towing of the truck and trailer, and an additional $for the initial road service call and laborWith tax included, the total for services performed was $Unfortunately, the customer was unable to obtain enough money to cover the full amount including sales taxPine Tree then settled for $in payment to avoid extended expenses obtained by additional standby time Since the units were delivered to the [redacted] repair facility, the customer had a fellow tower remove the unitsThey were then towed to a facility in [redacted] **, where they have since been removed yet againWe are not sure where the units have been taken to since then, but we have realized that this customer was difficult to deal with and hard to please after going through three towing providers and three service shops

resolved roadside and would likely be wasteful. However, the customer insisted that we send a technician out. Pine Tree's tech responded in a timely manner, where he checked the codes and confirmed there was internal engine damage. The low oil pressure readings were indeed accurate, and the issue was too severe to be fixed roadside. The customer then requested a tow for both his truck and trailer. The tow was quoted at $675.00 for both the truck and trailer combined. The customer- agreed and the-tow was-performed. Pine-Tree then gave payment options of EFS  Check, Comdata Comchek, FleetOne Plus Chek, T-Chek, or cash; from which the customer opted to pay with cash. We charged $675.00 for towing of the truck and trailer, and an additional $100.00 for the initial road service call and labor. With tax included, the total for services performed was $831.19. Unfortunately, the customer was unable to obtain enough money to cover the full amount including sales tax. Pine Tree then settled for $800.00 in payment to avoid extended expenses obtained by additional standby time.  Since the units were delivered to the [redacted] repair facility, the customer had a fellow tower remove the units.
