Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/12/22) */ The consumer originally reached out to our business via Instagram requesting a refund for a lace wig that she had for approximately one week. Generally, due to hygiene purposes wigs and other hair extensions are final sale. However, in an... effort to ensure all clients are fully satisfied we were willing to offer her a refund minus the shipping cost if the item was received in the same condition sent to her. Unfortunately, once we stated that the item must be returned in its original condition, [redacted] informed us that the additional lace in the front of the wig was no longer attached, i.e. meaning that it had been removed. Once we informed her that we could not accept the return if it wasn't in its original state she then stated that the lace was missing/fell off, however, in her IG message she merely stated it was missing. Due to the stitching of lace wigs, it is impossible for the lace to fall off or be missing. It is one single patch of lace, and the start of the wig is stitched a few inches back to allow the client to cut the front of the wig to fit their face. The consumer further advised us that her stylist viewed the wig and informed her that the lace was missing, however, it is clear to us that she took the wig to her stylist to install it, and once installed she didn't like the appearance of it. Upon opening the package, the consumer would've immediately noticed that the extra lace was missing, which again is impossible, and contacted us rather than taking the wig to her stylist to view. Furthermore, the consumer returned the item without our authorization, which has since been returned to her. We specifically stated that we needed to view the images prior to agreeing to the refund, but she sent the unit back without a response from us. It is our belief that she immediately returned the unit because she knew that we would not be able to accept the return since the lace had been cut and she wore the unit. We have documentation of all communications with the consumer, including photos submitted by the consumer will submit that information if necessary. The consumer also stated that we are being uncooperative with PayPal, which is a false statement. Her case is currently being reviewed by PayPal as a result of us submitting a response to her complaint. Unfortunately, this is a case of buyer's remorse, and as previously stated, had the consumer not altered the unit we were more the willing to provide her with a refund, which is against our refund policy that is clearly listed on our website. The fact that the lace was cut to fit the frame of her face enables from being able to resell the product. Please let us know if you have additional questions and will respond promptly.
