I was locked out of my apartment on December [redacted] and I called a number stuck to my door indicating it should be called for lockout situations. At the time I assumed it was the number our landlord had posted, since there was no company identification, and when they answered the phone they don't state their company name, only "service". On the phone they acted like they were part of my property management service, and when the locksmith arrived he stated everything would be paid by our landlord. They never mentioned any pricing over the phone, but they got a locksmith out to my apartment quickly. After unlocking my door and getting into my apartment, he then required immediate payment of $743.66. We realized at this time that he did not work for our Property Management company, but he reassured us that they will reimburse us for the cost. We unfortunately believed him. The receipt he provided was from a different locksmith company: [redacted] and nowhere on the receipt does it highlight that the service was provided by Pink Locksmith. The locksmith even intentionally (although I didn't realize it at the time) ripped off the top portion of the receipt to hide the [redacted] name. I contacted [redacted], who had no record of the service call and asked me to check my credit card statement. After reviewing my statement I saw I was charged by Pink Locksmith, not [redacted] had no idea how Pink Locksmith stole their receipt books, but was concerned it happened.

I've since found out that I was charged approximately 3 times what the price should have been, and I was provided no price transparency until the service was complete (in fact, I believe we were deceived to believe they were part of our property management service) . Both of my roommates were present at the time, so there are three of us that will vouch for this story.Desired Settlement: I am requesting to pay a fair market cost for this service. I never would have used this company if I wasn't mislead to believe they worked for our property management company, since our property management company has their own 24 hour lockout service. I'm requesting to pay $250, which would account for a $498.61 refund.

They put stickers on all the locks in my building so it makes you think that they are affiliated with the property management, then they give a quote that does not include $180 for the lock that costs less than $20 at a hardware store and try to bully you into paying it in cash. They are a terrible business with very shady to illegal business practices.

Review: I was locked out of my apartment on Thursday night and noticed a sticker on my door stating "if you are locked out, call this number." I called the number (thinking it was a late-night number for my super or management company but it was actually a locksmith). The locksmith came and told me that the job would be $25-$125. Then, he starts drilling the door because he claims that he cannot pick the lock. He also informs me that he works with my management company and if I give them the receipt that they will reimburse me. Shortly after, he hands me a bill for $488. On this bill it says, "Service Call = $39, Drill a cylinder to open door = $185, New cylinder supply and installed = $225, Tax = $39.84, TOTAL=488.84" I was NEVER informed that this service would cost this amount. When I start complaining, the service man is telling me things like "if you pay in cash I will give you a discount" and, worst of all, "if I can come in and sleep, then you do not have to pay." He brought up sleeping in my apartment with me numerous times. After feeling completely verbally harassed and unsafe at 2 in the morning, I just handed him my credit card and signed off on the charge in hopes that he would just leave me alone. Worst of all, I woke up the next morning and I am LOCKED IN my apartment. The handle was completely broken and I had to unscrew the entire door to get out. When I called the company to come over immediately to let me out and informed them that the job was done incorrectly, they said that they did not have warranty and it would cost me another $200. I instead called my management company and they fixed it for me.

I called Pink Locksmith again complaining about how the job was not done correctly and I was locked out. I also complained to them about their employee verbally harassing me. I even went on [redacted] and saw some of the exact situations happened to me that happened to other customers. They said that they cannot refund me and didn't believe me that their employee said those things to me. They also said that they did not have the paperwork with them and to call back on Monday (which was four days after this event occurred). I am going to call them back today but am completely disgusted and demanding a full refund.Desired Settlement: I demand a full refund. If that is not possible, I want some significant amount of money back, as I was verbally harassed and the job was not even done properly.
