Pinkees Nail Spa

my wife went to pinkees nail spa on 5/28/2013 to redeem a gift certificate for a manicure pedicure that I purchased from them on 12/18/ 2012. My wife was told that the business was still called Pinkees but that it was under new management and could not redeem her gift certificate. My wife left very upset and in tears.I went in on the very next day on 05/29/ to confirm this and was also told that they would not redeem the certificate. I also have a gift certificate that I purchased for my daughter for a manicure ,It was also purchased on 12/18/2013.Desired SettlementMy wife and daughter would like to redeem their gift certificates.Business' Initial Response In March we took over ownership of the salon from the previous owner. On May 28 [redacted]'s wife came into the salon for a pedicure. I got her water ready and she started to soak her feet. She told me she had a gift certificate that was purchased from the previous owner but did not have the complete attachment so I explained we could not accept it but she could pay in cash and we could try to contact the old owner to get her money back. She said she did not have cash and could not pay that way. She left the salon. Someone called later, I believe it may have been her husband and asked for the previous owner, we tried to explain he no longer worked there. The next day, May 29, [redacted] came into the salon very upset. We tried to explain to him that we were going to try to get in touch with the previous owner to try to get his wife's money back but he was very hard to reason with. We attempt to explain this multiple times. There were other customers waiting in the salon and they also tried to reason with him and help with the language difficulties. He would not listen and he left the salon still very upset. In order to fix the situation we will offer [redacted]'s wife a free pedicure in place of the gift certificate, in hopes that this will resolve the issue. If she accepts, she can call the salon to schedule an appointment.
