Re: Complaint [redacted] To Whom it May Concern:This letter Is in response to the complaint filed by [redacted] for repairs made to his Chevrolet TrallbiazerOn June 18, 2015, Mr [redacted] brought his vehicle in for a driveline noiseUpon diagnosis, the technician heard the noise coming from the Front Differential and checked the fluidThe fluid was contaminated with metal shavings indicating an internal failure of the differentialMr [redacted] was provided an estimate, and approved the work to be doneMr [redacted] also advised me that the vehicle had sat for an extended period of timeAfter the repairs were completed, and Mr [redacted] picked up his vehicle, he began to notice another noise in the driveline of the vehicleUpon diagnosis, the technician noticed that the left front wheel bearing was making noiseIt was explained to Mr [redacted] that due to the vehicle sitting, rust may have built up in the bearing causing premature failureThe bearing was replaced, at a discounted cost, and the vehicle was returned to Mr [redacted] , with no other problems present'Approximately weeks later, a woman whose name I believe is "***", phoned the shop to make me aware that Mr [redacted] 's Trailblazer was involved in a fireShe became extremely belligerent and demanded a full refund for all repairs made to the vehicle, and stated that her internet research led her to believe the differential caused the fireI asked her to provide me with insurance company documentation and told her that if negligence of one of my employees caused the fire that my insurance provider would take care of the issueI was provided with a cell phone photograph of the engine compartment being hosed down by the fire department, and a [redacted] "Total Loss Report', neither of which list any point of origin for the fireI will gladly forward this to my insurance provider, if either Mr [redacted] or "***" can provide me with a contact person for their insurance that I can forward to my insurance provider. The demand for a full refund in my opinion is not reasonableNot only is this an issue for both of our insurance providers to deal with, but I do not believe the differential in any way, could have caused the fireIn my many years in this industry I have never heard of that particular component causing a vehicle fireI also researched online, as "***" stated she did as well, and found ZERO results that linkTrailblazer vehicle fires to the Front DifferentialAlso, Chevrolet Trailblazers have multiple safety recalls for fire concerns that may have not been addressed on this vehicle by a GM Dealer. The only reasonable settlement I see fit for this matter, is for the complainant to forward my insurance information to their own insurance provider and allow them to make the determination on the matterIf in fact it is found that my technician was at fault, they will compensate them, I cannot forward this matter to my insurance provider as long as Mr [redacted] and "***" refuse to provide me with the required information (I have explained this multiple times over the phone, and the only response was a barrage of profanity). If they would like to forward my insurance Information to their carrier, it is listed below: [redacted] ***###-###-####Official Name of Corporation: Pinnacle Auto Service, IncAny further questions, please do not hesitate to contact meRegards,Zach L [redacted] Vice -PresidentPinnacle Auto Service, Inc.###-###-####

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.? For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Contact information for ***'s claims adjusters were included with the total loss reportI have also contacted [redacted] for further information and will again to forward Pinnacle's insurance informationAlso, while my representative may have raised her voice, she was professional and no profanity was usedThe fire safety recall for the Trailblazer is in regards to the power window control, and the Trailblazer in question was not included in this recall, per online check of the VIN#The VIN# should also be included in the? insurance information provided to the business, so they can also verify this.? The source of the fire to the Trailblazer in question was the bottom of the engine, not the door, thus it would appear that this recall issue could not be the cause of the fireIncidentally, the flames coming from underneath the engine and being seen through the wheel wells, would seem to? be in the general area that work was completedInsurance covers the cost to replace the vehicle, but does not include the additional $in repairs made just days prior to the vehicle fireIn the mean time, I am still responsible for the loan I had to take out to complete the repairs? While I am waiting for ***'s official findings on the cause of the fire, the fact of the matter remains that the Trailblazer never caught fire in the years before Pinnacle Auto worked on the vehicle, yet did catch fire just days after working on the vehicleThis all seems? very unlikely to be just a? coincidence, and I feel that it is reasonable to assume that after paying for $in repairs, I would have had a vehicle that was safe to operate Regards, [redacted] r [redacted]
