From: <[redacted]@pinpointroofing.com> font-family: arial, sans-serif;">Date: Thu, Feb 26, 2015 at 1:55 PMSubject: complaint ID [redacted]To: [redacted]@myRevdex.com.orgCc: [redacted].com[redacted],
In regard to this complaint. [redacted] has not paid her bill. She paid her first insurance check of $5,097.99. She owes a 500.00 deductible which was payable before work began. She said she would pay this as soon as she got paid. She also owes 10,300.68 approved by her insurance company per her adjuster Kyle P[redacted]. A portion of these funds are for additional work the homeowner requested that has not been completed yet. The majority of this amount has been completed and the funds are where the insurance company either underpaid of simply didn't pay for work to be completed at all.
As for her complaint her insurance company paid for a partial roof on her home and garage. They paid for 5.55 sq. of roofing to be completed out of 11sq total on her house and garage. We got authorization from the insurance to do her entire roof. We did 11 sq. total on her property. Which is a large portion of her remaining bill.
As far as her skylight is concerned. The homeowners insurance company paid 132.80 total to replace the aluminum cladding around the edges of the skylight since that aluminum had been damaged by hail. After speaking to her insurance we got approval to replace the cracked plexiglass and reseal the skylight. We couldn't replace the skylight because the skylight is built into the framing of the house. My guess is her home is 90+ years old and she stated they have had problems with the skylight for years. It forms the roof over the bathtub and acts as a vent for the bathroom. She said years ago it started leaking so an old man came in and boarded up the inside to stop the leaking water from continuing to come into the house. We also got additional approval from the insurance company to fix the walls in the bathroom leading up to the skylight. Once additional funds are received we told the homeowner we would gladly do the repairs in her bathroom. When we took the glass of the skylight out we covered the open hole with the base sheet of the flat roof system we used on her main roof. Yes, we nailed the base sheet to the deck around the base of the skylight. This portion of base sheet would then be cut out once we put the new glass for the skylight in and the remaining top sheet was flashed in around the skylight opening. We didn't use tarps. We've had this conversation with her about 5 times.
Obviously her roof and skylight are not leaking so we did our job properly.
As far as the complaint that she has nails sticking through the decking in her garage. Yes, you do. Again the base sheet had to be nailed down to the decking. Nails must penetrate the deck. Please look up the next time you're in [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], etc., you'll notice the screws coming through the metal deck. You don't notice it in your home because we have ceilings that are below the rafters that cover the nails up.
As far as her storm door is concerned. We put another door on that matched the old door. Her sister said it was too small and hindered the movement of furniture in and out of the house. She wanted a larger door. So we had to order a custom 31" door. The homeowners insurance company paid $223.07 to remove and replace a standard 31" door of which only 196.89 has been received. The new door requested by the homeowner was $375.00 just for the door and came with a 8-10 week lead time.
At this point in time we are willing to go complete each and every repair on her list just as soon as she squares up her bill. Obviously we don't expect to be paid in full for work not completed but we need to be paid for work completed above and beyond the original insurance scope that is finished and a down payment from the insurance funds left to complete the bathroom and storm door.
Please find the enclosed documents to substantiate my claims.
