Review: We took our 2010 Chevrolet to Pioneer for repairs from an accident. Now our vehicle has a ding in the rear drivers side door that was not there when the vehicle was left there. The place still had paint flakes in it, You could tell it had just been done. There was no rust in the chip. The shop manager was very rude.Sincerely[redacted]Desired Settlement: Place fixed

Response:

Customer came to pick up vehicle on 11/4/2014 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Customer came in office very upset because we didn't replace the tailgate and because of a chip in driver's rear door. I told customer the tailgate only had a 1 hour repair which was a "minor repair" and just was scratched from the accident which we repaired per [redacted] estimate. Customer said he thought the tailgate was twisted and he wanted [redacted] to pay for a new tailgate. I told him it was a very minor repair and there was no way the tailgate could be twisted from the accident as it was minor and he became very upset about that. I offered several times to adjust the tailgate. Customer told me several times that he used to be a body man and he knew it was from the accident and also requested no bondo be placed on his vehicle. I told customer if he was a body man previously then he knew bondo had to be used to the repair besides but not tailgate. I also told customer that we give a lifetime warranty on our repairs, not to worry about the bondo. We done the repairs on the back of the vehicle per [redacted] estimate and they have photos which verify the "minor repairs." I would have offered to fix the driver's rear door, but customer was very rude and kept making threats to get his lawyer involved, even going to the point of instructing his wife to call his lawyer right then. I finally told customer that now that he wanted to get his attorney involved, that I would not be talking about the matter any further and his attorney could talk with our corporate attorney from then on. We have decided to repair the left rear door at no charge to resolve this situation.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We pulled in at Pioneer and the first thing we saw was the new dent in the door. We told Mr. [redacted] about the dent and he blew up and kept saying it was not done there. We told him that the tailgate was sticking out at the top and it looked like it was warped. I asked Mr. [redacted] if they put bondo in the bed bed corners because [redacted] said our vehicle would be fixed exactly as it was before the accident. We called [redacted] and left them a message that our tailgate was not lined up. We told Mr. [redacted] that the tailgate and the dent had to be fixed, he blew up again and said that the dent was not done there and that if we wanted it fixed, either we (customer) or [redacted] would have to pay for it . I saidi I would get a lawyer if I had to to get it fixed. Mr. [redacted] saidi he would keep our keys where they were and walked off.[redacted] called back the next day and said that they would get the tailgate fix. [redacted] told us that they would call Pioneer about the dent because they had pictures of our vehicle before it went in the shop. This is the reason they decided to fix the dent! You can see where the dent was, does not exactly match, you can tell where it was painted. I will say that Pioneer has an excellent service department, treated great there. But under no circumstance will I ever take my vehicles to Pioneer for any type of service.[redacted]

Review: I bought a car from pioneer chevy in [redacted] under the assumption that it came with air conditioning and cruise control because that's what the window sticker detailing what the car featured said. I absolutely would not have bought this car if it did not include these. In the middle of the signing/buying process (after being there for 5 hours) I realized it actually did not have cruise. The man who was the financer assured us we would get a dealer price throigh a third party place to have one put in. Well that did not happen I paid just under $500 to have that done no dealer price. I was very displeased with this but paid for it to be done anyways. Then the summer months come around (I bought my car in February) and my air conditioning was not working. I took the normal steps of any car owner and put freeon in it twice to no avail. As I do not have all the money in the world to spare large sums of cash at any given moment I started to save for a garage trip to see what was wrong. I got to the garage (not pioneer) on June 09, 2015 and it was here that I was informed that the whole air compressor, pulley systems, and dryer unit were all completely missing from my car. My husband then went to pioneer to see if they would resolve this issue since clearly there is no A.C. in my car even though it was advertised and sold to me under the assumption that there was. We were only looking for pioneer to at least offer (and stick to) to give us a dealer price on the parts needed to put A.C. in or free labor on installing it. I feel like that is not a request too big for this company, since the car I bought was not what they advertised therefore not being what I thought they were selling me. We feel like the manager was very rude and uncaring about our situation and the false advertisement put into place to sell this car. I am hoping for a peaceful resolution to this problem and to keep lawyers uninvolved.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate it if pioneer would treat me the decent way and offer to repair my vehicle at a discounted cost for their false advertisment that lead me to buying this car. I would be a satisfied customer that would only say good things of pioneer if they did.

Re: ID # [redacted] This is in response to the complaint with ID number [redacted]. This vehicle was sold on February 3, 2015 and sold as is. The customer spoke with our used car manager on June the 9th, 2015 about their concern. This was the first mention of the air conditioning not working on the car. Our used car manager showed the customer where they had signed the as is sticker and the customer stated to the used car manager he understood there was no warranty on the car. I am sorry the customer is having A/C problems but we feel it is not our responsibility to cover any repairs on this vehicle as it was sold as-is. [redacted]General Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I understand that we bought the car as is, that's not the issue that I am upset about. You all sold me a car saying it has a/c, but the a/c has been completely removed and modifications have been made to make it a non air conditioned vehicle. This is false advertising! The only components for air conditioning in this car is a useless a/c button and some piping attached to nothing. Either one of a few things have happened here. The a/c was removed before pioneer obtained the vehicle and the service department failed to report it in their inspection. Which is an honest mistake, that we're willing to work with the company to correct the situation. Or the service department at pioneer removed the a/c themselves for a cheap easy fix and passed the problem to the customer while continuing to advertise as having a/c. Road grime buildup shows that taking out all the a/c components was not recent work as the pioneer manager suggested when confronted face to face about this issue. Using false advertising is not how an honest business is ran! We want no out of pocket help from the company, only dealer priced parts and free labour. This is more than a reasonable request to make this an honest sale of a vehicle.

Review: My husband and I purchased a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser from Pioneer on 11/25/2014. When we picked up the vehicle and came home the check engine light came on. I told my husband we needed to call Pioneer, it was too late they had already closed for the day. Then it was Thanksgiving and no one was there to call after that. Then we figured out it has no heat. We called and spoke with Pioneer's general manager about the problem and he would not do anything because he said we bought it as is. They say they have a 30 day/1000 mile warranty. But nothing was done. I have already had to put a battery, washer fluid nozzles on the car. The check engine light is a power steering pressure switch.Desired Settlement: I would like the car repaired at no charge to me.

Response:

The vehicle was sold AS-IS. The AS-IS was signed by the customer. No Warranty implied or promised. We are sorry the customer was unhappy with the purchase.
