Complaint ID: [redacted]  - [redacted]/Pioneer Paving                                                  11/1/17Revdex.com:Per your request, we will give you our position on this matter.A couple months after the driveway resurfacing in April, 2016 – Ms. [redacted] requested that we look at driveway – that her tenant (it is rental property) had complained of a water puddle near front entrance. The estimator, [redacted], looked at the drive, and didn’t see any pavement defects, or problems; but as driveway was dry, a puddle wasn’t evident.Eventually, at/during a rain, [redacted], owner and production manager on site during paving, MET [redacted] on the driveway to review the puddle she claimed.  In front of her, [redacted] placed a quarter in the puddle and both determined that the TOP OF THE QUARTER WAS NOT covered with water.  That makes the puddle less than 1/16th of an inch.  As a general practice of the trade, this would certainly be an acceptable variance.   At that point, we thought the matter was resolved with that meeting on the site.Sometime later we started getting phone calls again.  Please understand, as a small company, all of us wearing multiple hats, we are out of the office most of the time, thus must return calls at a later time.  When [redacted] would call Ms. [redacted] back, he would get her recorder…and leave her a message that he called.  Eventually, he gave [redacted] his cell phone to call back.  However, she would continue to call the office complaining that WE WEREN’T returning her calls.  Ultimately, through a phone call with Ms. [redacted], we suggested that the only material thin enough to add some bulk in the area WITHOUT getting higher than the adjacent concrete would be a seal-coating material.  WE OFFERED, AND SHE ACCEPTED, TO SEAL-COAT, FREE OF CHARGE, not just the area around the puddle, but the ENTIRE CIRCLE DRIVE (for a more complete cosmetic and curb appeal). We then did seal-coat her circle drive… a protective coating that should be applied to her new drive to protect it in any case. The phone calls began again in a month or two.  We had to tell her that we’ve done all we can to please her…we don’t have any additional solutions, as the small bird-bath is within the standard practices of the trade. When Ms. [redacted] determined we were about played out, she stepped up the rhetoric and the threats. In July, this year:   “…the job [redacted]”, “ …terrible job ”, and then it became “the worst job she has ever seen”; and finally, “…if you don’t do something for me, I’ll have to turn it over to my attorney”.    AT THAT POINT, AFTER THE EFFORTS WE HAVE MADE, SHE STILL FELT WE HADN’T DONE “SOMETHING FOR ME” --- and the always handy, power play, end-game –‘ATTORNEY’ came into play.  That is when we decided that is where we would let it go if need be.

I am rejecting this response because this business response does not address a solution to the problem at all. It seems as though their reply was being sent in order to stall for more time.
Sincerely,
