Pioneer Valley Oil, Inc. Reviews (2)

I have been a loyal customer of Pioneer Valley since Septeber 2013.I called to order oil last Tuesday, April 14.Having saved the ad which posted a $2.199 price as well as a 10 cent coupon.I was told the price was now $2.299. I said I would hold off.Finding the same ad in the [redacted] ad with the [redacted] the subsequent days, including [redacted] and today, [redacted] I called again. This time I was told the prize was now [redacted] times I was told that the price was subject to change as stated in the ad. Also, that they did not have total control over the papers insertion of the ad.While I understand that, I feel that after a week of advertising the same [redacted] prize, and having been made aware of it, they should have that control and believe this to be deceptive advertising to attract customers.I had 136.7 gal. deliecered today at a prize of [redacted] after the 10 cent/gal. discount, I will be paying [redacted] would have been paying only [redacted] strongly feel that they should have honored the prize the day I called for a delivery, but especially today because the ad still reads [redacted]Product_Or_Service: Heating oilDesired SettlementThe difference in price would be [redacted] feel strongly that I should receive a credit for that amount.I am sending a copy of this to the company as I don't have an email address for them and am looking for a written acknowledgement for such a credit or a check.Business Response We received the complaint from [redacted] case #XXXXXX and would like to respond. We tried to via internet but were unable to. As [redacted] pointed out in her complaint she did call to place the order and was full aware of the price she was going to pay. We explained to her that we repeatedly told the paper to change the price and it was a mistake on the papers end. At that point it is out of our hands if the paper is telling us they are going to change the price then we expect it to be done. If she would like the contact information of who we deal with at the paper to verify that we were trying to change it I will gladly provide her with it. We can't control what the paper does after we make the request. If she did not like the price that was quoted to her she didn't have to order from us. We are sorry that she feels that we were trying to be deceptive, but it was out of our hands.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I would like the Berkshire Eagle to be involved in this and find out their stand on this. What should I do next?Thank you[redacted]
