Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/08/06) */
It is apparent that there is a lack of understanding by the guest regarding emergency power and generators. Although we do have generators that allow us to operate portions of the resort when our electricity provider, Needles Public Utility...

Authority, has power failures, it is not enough to power all the facility. Power poles were snapped and transmission lines were strewn across Interstate 40. Service was restored as quickly as possible by the Needles Public Utility Authority. In fact the storm was so severe that power was also out in the city of Laughlin, NV. Even though she may have thought she filed a police report, there is nothing that they could have done to change the situation. We tried to obtain a copy of the alleged police report and were told by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department they only show a deputy responded to the call, No report was taken because it was not a pace matter.
During their stay each registered guest was given a $50 gift certificate that could be used at the restaurant and bar which did have emergency power at the time of the event. Later we also sent registered guests the attached letter along with a gift certificate for a free two night stay. Because the complainant was not the registered guest of record for the subject accommodations (cabin 114), she did not receive either item. Her friend, who was the registered guest of record, received all of these items. There is a store on sight at our resort, which was unable to stay open continuously for the convenience of the guest because its backup generator failed intermittently. The reference to what sounds like hear say about the owners concern about this closure is inaccurate. We maintain a wide variety of items that would have been very helpful for all of our guests during this powerful weather event. We are aware that it is a long drive to the next facility and were upset to know there was nothing we could do to change it.
In reviewing our registration records we have no record of this party ever staying or paying for a stay at our resort. This makes her request for a refund confusing at best, Perhaps she was using another name or as described above may have been a part of another party but that isn't addressed in the complaint, Her declaration of the lack of business ethics leaving her bitter may be because she wanted us to correct events that were out of anyone's control. The fact that we wouldn't be bullied into distributing refunds even when threatened by some guest with lawsuits, reports to the Revdex.com and name calling does not make us guilty of any wrong doing.
Sincerely, [redacted]
