Pit Stop Airport Valet Parking Reviews (3)

Review: Our family returned from a trip on November 6, 2013 to find that the passenger side rear sliding door was completely dented inward. It was not in that condition when we left our car with the valet on October 31st. I immediately brought it to the attention of the manager [redacted], who apologized and said they would take care of it. One of [redacted]'s employees took pictures of the damage as did we. [redacted] provided me the contact name and number of the owner, [redacted]. I had tried on several occasions to contact [redacted] to no avail. In the meantime I had stayed at this location two more times. On my last visit I left an estimate of the damage for [redacted]. The cost to repair the damage was around $2,000. I eventually received a call from [redacted]. He asked me what was I looking for by leaving him the estimate. My response was for him to pay the damage his place caused to my vehicle. He stated that he was not going to pay since we could not prove the damage was caused there. He said his video surveillance tape could not tell if there was damage or not. I asked to see the tape in which he declined saying I wouldn't be able to see anything. We turned this dispute over to my insurance company. [redacted] was non-helpful with them as well. He again refused to allow [redacted] to view the surveillance nor would he provide them his insurance information. On a side note, I used this service between 15 - 20 times per year since the business opened. I consider myself a loyal customer to this business. I am completely shocked and in disbelief of how I ended up being treated by the owner.Desired Settlement: I was hopeful that [redacted] would do the right thing and reimburse me for the damages created by his staff. That did not occur. I wanted to alert your service of my issue. Hopefully your readers will review my story and avoid the PIT Stop. In my opinion, the owner is unethical. He conveniently turned this into a he said/she said case. He offers no protection to his customers.

Review: On 4/2/15 I was dropped off by the shuttle to find my car was damaged. It was raining that day and after I put my bags in the car I saw that the windshield wipers were moving, but my left windshield wiper was completely missing. The only thing left was the wiper arm. This metal on glass contact has caused a scratch in my windshield that is approximately 7 inches long. I shut off my wipers and exited the vehicle and flagged down a guy (short in height, brown hair with facial hair) and asked him where my wiper was. He told me he didn't know. I looked around the vehicle and I found my wiper blade 3 feet away on the left side of the driver's side of the car. I told the guy here it is and he attempted to help me put it back on. When he couldn't attach the blade to the arm he said he would get help. So I attempted to put the blade back on the wiper arm and got it to attach. I asked the guy how did my wiper come off and he said he didn't know. On my way home I called the Pit Stop ###-###-#### and spoke to Joey? (it was a J name) at 6:42 pm for 2 min and 18 sec. I told him that my car was damaged and that I needed to speak to someone about it. I also asked if they had security tapes of the location since it is in the front of the main building. He told me I needed to speak to [redacted] the General Manager and that he would be in on 4/3/15. He said he would leave a message in [redacted]'s box to call me. On 4/3/15 I called at 8:28 am and left another message with the guy at the front desk. He told me that there is a note in his box, and I said well you will need my phone number too so he knows where to reach me - which I gave him. I didn't get a call back. On 4/8/15 at 5:09 pm I talked to [redacted] again and I told him that if [redacted] did not call me back by the end of the day tomorrow 4/9/15 I was going to take further action. On 4/9/15 at 11:27 am I received a call and hang up from ###-###-####. So at 3:24 pm I called this number back to see who it was and it took me to the Pit Stop and [redacted] answered. I told him who I was and he said he was busy and that is why he hadn't gotten back to me. I asked him why he didn't leave a voice mail and he didn't give a reason. I believe he called and hung up to technically say that he called me back. I asked him if he looked at the security tapes and he said he needs to go through them manually and it will take time. He said he would give me a call back at the end of 4/10/15 which he did not. He also tried to tell me that it was raining and my wiper blade would have fallen off on the way home if it didn't fall off at his location. I told him how would it have fallen off if the wiper arm is keeping pressure on the blade against the window. He didn't have a response to that. The only way that wiper blade came off was if someone took it off or hit it and knocked it off. And if they knocked off the arm, why would they continue to let the wipers run and scratch the window and makes things worse. When I attached the wiper blade at the location I had to press in on the hub and slide the wiper blade over something in order for it to slide on. There is no way it could have just fallen off. And I am hoping through this process that maybe you will be able to see the security tapes and let me know what happened. Never did [redacted] offer to pay for the damage or try to help me in any way. On the ticket they give you to identify your car it says that any damage to the car is not their responsibility unless it is due to their negligence. I would say this is negligence. Wiper blades do not fly off of vehicle and land 3 feet away on their own.Desired Settlement: I would like my window replaced.

Review: I dropped my car off at PIT Stop for 5 days (August 23 - 28, 2013) and when I returned the battery was most likely jumped without notifying me that it occurred. I noticed that the time on my clock was way off when I drove away. I came back home and left my car in the driveway and it would not start this morning. I had it towed and the garage told me that it was indeed a battery that was drained completely. It would no longer hold a charge and the cost for a new battery is going to be almost $200. I just spent $70 for the 5 days at PIT Stop. When I called this afternoon to ask for some compensation (not a complete refund but a few days of free parking there for my next trip). The first woman I spoke to said "we jump a lot of batteries; a lot of our valets like to leave the lights on." The second gentleman I spoke to said "Don't take this the wrong way, but I can't be responsible for someone's dead battery." Again, I'm not looking for a complete refund, but some compensation based on their error and non-disclosure.Desired Settlement: A refund would be nice, but compensation for the next time I travel would also be acceptable.
