Pitcher's A-1 Automotive Reviews (1)
I was looking for a pick-up truck on Ebay for my business. I located one through Pitcher's A-1 Automotive in Chatham, NY. On 11/13/12, I contacted a salesman, [redacted], and was told I would have to put down a security deposit of $500.00, non-refundable, on my credit card, which I did.On 11/16/12, I drove over 4 hours to NY and the truck was NOT like the pictures shown on Ebay. I was totally mislead and DID NOT purchase the truck. For one,I was told the truck had a few scratches, and there were gouges in it. The truck was nothing like the pictures. The manager, [redacted], told me that when they sell the truck they will return my security deposit, even though it was non-refundable. If the truck would have been like the pictures, and in the condition the salesman told me it was in, I would have bought the truck. I just don't drive 4 hours for no reason. My fiance' then called [redacted], the manager, requesting the security deposit back, before they sold the truck, because we were mislead and we shouldn't have to wait. He claimed there was no money in their Ebay account to refund the deposit, but I didn't go through Ebay, I gave my credit card over the phone. He said he would have to talk to his salesman, that the truck WAS like the pictures, and his salesman doesn't lie. My fiance' made the comment 'A car salesman that doesn't lie, ha?' and he hung up on her. When she tried to call back, the phone was picked up and she heard the receptionist say 'Is that her?' and he, [redacted](the Manager) responded 'yes' and hung the phone up on her again without even saying hello. He was totally rude and unprofessional.I called the next day and [redacted], the manager, said he still had to talk to his salesman. I called again on 11/27/12, and spoke to [redacted]. I asked him if he sold the truck and he said he did. I asked about my security deposit and he said he wasn't going to refund it. I said to him that he must make alot of money doing this and he responded, "Yes I do". Obviously this dealership is scamming and ripping people off.
