ID [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted]:We have received this Complaint and have reviewed the records of this delivery issue. Following are the facts as we have them on record:We made a pickup at [redacted] on 7-9-15. The shipment consisted of 8 cartons on 2...

skids weighing 1,940 pounds. The shipment was to be delivered to [redacted]. At the time we accepted the shipment, there was no indication that it must deliver in the morning of 7- 10-15 nor were we informed of any "special damages" clause if we failed to deliver it by a certain time. The shipment was assigned a tracking pro number of 5007366896.This shipment moved that night from our Philadelphia, PA terminal to Roanoke, VA. It arrived on 7-10-15 and was scheduled for delivery on our driver with ten other deliveries.PITT OHIO offers 98% next day service. For those shipments that absolutely must deliver the next day or require next morning delivery, we offer "Fast Track" delivery and must be informed of this at time of pickup. Fast Track will guarantee it delivers the next day or morning but the shipper must pay an upcharge to cover the additional expense in guaranteeing this service. We were never notified of any urgency in getting this shipment delivered until the consignee called our terminal on 7-10-15. By then, it was too late to change the delivery routing on this shipment. We delivered it at 4:44 PM on the afternoon of 7-10-15.Given the circumstances of Mr. [redacted]'s letter, stating he had additional labor costs and detention charges from another carrier while they waited for the freight, PITT OHIO cannot lawfully be held liable for those fees because the shipper never contracted with us for morning delivery. We hope this explains the situation more clearly and appreciate the opportunity to explain what happened from the Carriers point of view.Best regards,[redacted]Manager, Claims PreventionPITT OHIO[redacted]

Review: Ordered a ATV for my son for Christmas. On 12/19/13 recieved a call from [redacted] from Pittohio to set up appointment to be delivered the next day between 10am and 8pm. On 12/20/2013 the shipment was never delivered so called Pittohio to see what happened and if in fact it was on its way. Spoke with Supervisor n[redacted] who stated that shipment was still in transit from Indianapolis terminal and would not be delivered that day. Asked if shipment could be delivered next day and was told that it is a fee to deliver on saturdays even though the mistake was on their part. Agreed to have shipment delivered 12/23/13 before 10:30AM. Called at 8AM to confirm delivery and was told by another supervisor that Shipment was lost and not in their terminal nor the terminals in Indianapolis nor Cincinnati. But it states clearly on the tracking that it was sent to Columbus from Indianapolis on 12/17 and arrived in Columbus terminal on 12/18. The company states that they have no clue on where it is located and have contacted all terminals to locate but have yet to find. They have been taking me on turns to figure this out and have been no help. I would have not even known it was lost if I did not call them to see myself because no one has contacted me at all only when I call them. Now I have to go through filing a claim to receive my money back which will take forever. And with Christmas 2 days away my son will now have to go without a christmas gift.Desired Settlement: I would like my purchase amount back for my ATV which is $529. Planning on filing a claim against company if money is not received in court and ask for money for pain and suffering for them losing my shipment and what I have to go through to get it back. As well as the issues in having to call their company due to them not calling me to let me aware of the issue itself.

Review: Pitt-Ohio told Mt office Manager that the order would be delivered to our location first thing in the AM which it didn't arrive the product they were delivering was to be off loaded by us and loaded into a vessel and then loaded on to another truck that was heading to a job site through another trucking company. The second truck that was to pick up here was told to be here at 2 PM and it would take about 30 min to load him and get him on his way at 3:45 No Pitt truck y secretary called the local dispatch and was told it was out for delivery I in returned called and who ever answers their phone was not polite and when I ask for a manager to get an answer he told me he had just delivered at a business that was less than 10 min away and I was next after waiting 30 min I drove to the business and they told me they had no delivery from them. The truck showed up a 4:37 and the driver said he was at a total different location and when they loaded him this morning they put my product in the front of the truck and there was know way he could deliver it until the end of the day. So now I am being charged a fee by the second trucking company for having to wait plus I am paying two employs overtime to complete the loading of the media and the vessel.Desired Settlement: Pitt-Ohio should pay the Fee's and the overtime wages that I now have to take care of.
