Pittman's Auto Sales Reviews (1)

I went to this car dealership on 11/06/15 and put a deposit on a 2005 Honda Accord priced at $4500.00, it was $1200 down and I left $300 to hold car.On 11/6/15 I went to this dealership with my father who has bought several cars in the pass [redacted] here. My father spoke to the owner in regards to the 2005 Honda Accord he had for sale at $4500.00 with $2000.00 down payment. My father asked the owner about coming down on the down payment for me because I am in need of a car for work but can't do $2000.00 down. The owner said he will accept $1200.00. I said ok. My father told the owner that I would leave what I had on me that day and come back in a week with the remaining balance. I filled out paperwork and left $300 that day. Now with all this being said. During me and my fathers conversation with [redacted] who works there and the owner who my father spoke to on the phone was there's mentioning of no refund policy or mentioning of no holding cars policy. The week went by and I realized that I couldn't get the remainder of down payment because of unexpected college expenses for my daughter. I told my father this and he said well I will call [redacted](the owner) and let him know you want a refund because of unexpected financial reasons. My father spoke with him sometime over the 11/13/15 thru 11/15/15 weekend. The owner [redacted] at first claimed he knew nothing of the arrangement he agreed on, then he saids yes he does remember the agreement but claims he thought I was bringing the whole $1200.00 on 11/6/15, which was not the case because he told my father it was ok for me to come back in a week with the remainder and my receipt even states that. The owner [redacted] claimed he didn't agree to it because his policy is to not hold cars for customers and no refunds. My father told him that yes he did or why else would I had left my money. There was my father, myself, [redacted] and another gentlemen who works there cleaning the cars I believe. We were all witness to what [redacted] agreed on. This is a family owned business. [redacted] is the owners mother/mother-in-law, who even the owner has said she doesn't know what she is doing. On 11/6/15 when I first went there looking at cars she told me I could not get the Kia sitting on the lot because she was already holding that for someone, so that's why looked at the Honda Accord and left money for that one. If what [redacted] was saying is true with the no hold cars why was the Kia being held for someone. Now, on 11/20/15 me and my brother went down to dealership in regards to my $300 refund. When we got there the Honda Accord was put back on lot to be sold and no longer was sitting on the side or had a hold/sold sign. I asked [redacted] where was [redacted] because he is NEVER there to speak to. It is always [redacted] or sometimes [redacted] wife. [redacted] said she will call him on the phone. She calls [redacted] who still saying that he does not hold cars or gives refunds and that I was suppose to come back in a week, so granted I was suppose to do that. My father spoke with him and told him I was unable to and wanted a refund. When my brother and I was in the dealership on 11/20/15 [redacted] herself said yeah [redacted] said we don't give refunds or hold cars and the policy is right here. She proceeds to say I posted this policy after "the situation " with you(meaning me) asking for my money back. I told [redacted] it was the first time me seeing that policy, and she agreed to it being made after the fact. I told her if this was "so called" your policy why wasn't it addressed to me on 11/6/15 by you and by [redacted] who spoke to my father and agreed to these arrangements. I told her if I knew of this from day one I myself would have not left my money ,especially if I knew you had a no refund policy. When [redacted] confess to making this policy sign after the fact, it was me, my brother, her and the car cleaning man present. I feel like I should not be punished or held responsible for "their" bad business, neglegiance and lying to clients. They are totally wrong in this situation and need to make their policies known upfront in writing and not put them in writing after the fact. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!Desired SettlementI want my refund of $300.
