Dear Ms***I am in receipt of your letter dated October 26, regarding a complaint filed by *** ***.I remember this situation very clearly! I will attempt to explain the facts as they occurred surrounding ***'s misunderstanding.*** originally called me and asked me what
the student rate would be to play paintball at our fieldI immediately asked her if she had purchased Paintball USA tickets which are sold by a private vendor on the local college campusesThese tickets are sold for $each and require each player to purchase a bag of paintballs which costs $including tax(this is clearly marked on all tickets-enclosed )In order to help her out, I offered to charge her $per player for the tickets and fully explained to her that each of the students playing would have to purchase a bag of paintballs for the above priceIt should be noted that this ticket program would require the group to play in what we call Open Play and would be mixed with other walk on playersThis would not be a private party which *** actually had at our fieldAt no point was *** ever told that paintballs cost $We have no such price for paintballs in any quantity!!!Sometime later, *** called back and set up a private party with the Assistant Manager and provided her credit card to reserve the fieldOur private party packages are as follows:$plus tax for the first playersAdditional players are charged $each plus tax to play in the private partyParty services include paintballs, masks, paintball guns, air tanks, free air refills, a personal referee, (please check our posted private party prices on our website: www.***) This means that the group plays exclusively amongst themselves with no outside players joining themIn addition, the guns and other equipment are reserved for a private partyThis is exactly what these girls enjoyed- a private party....The total price for this private party (which she received) should have been $615.25.After *** argued that she did not understand why it was so expensive, I explained the rates again and because it appeared that she did not fully understand the difference between the private party and the open play tickets, I reduced the price by $in an effort to help her outFurther, I explained the cost to at least three of her friends both in person and during a subsequent phone callI would add that her girlfriends stated they appreciated what I did for her and that they would pay their fair share so she would not be responsible for the entire billIn addition, I gave *** and her friends open play tickets valued at $each for future paintball open play, (this is a $value)In reality, our Paintball field delivered high quality services which *** herself described in your letter to me and we took a $loss due to her not fully understanding.We have been in business for almost months now and have a fantastic reputation for both our services and our pricesWe have never had a customer not understand the cost and it has never been explained differently.*** is not entitled to any further reimbursement as we have already made a sincere and concerted good faith effort to help her out.I think tickets valued at $plus a reduction of $is more than fair compensation for this customer's misinterpretation of our pricing packages.Please call me directly at *** *** *** should you need further clarification of the contents of this letter or anything else as it relates to ***'s complaint.Regards, Jame * B*** ***Manage of OperationsPittsburgh Paintball Park
