Pizza Bob's in Haleiwa

Pizza Bob's used to have great food at reasonable prices. That was the main reason we decided to stop in for a late (2P) Saturday lunch. However, after thinking about the cost: $80 ($70 + $10 tip) for the taste/quality of our lunch [2 (bland) pasta meals, hamburger/fries, a not-so "special" salad and a side of calamari], I was extremely upset and deeply regretted this decision. While I feel this lunch would have been "reasonable" if our tab was $40, there is no recourse (after several attempts through the Manager) since I didn't say anything while we were there. So, I hope my "expensive" lessons will prevent other potential patrons from making the same mistakes. Mistake/Lesson #1: If there are Poor ratings from others, there's probably some merit and their advice should be heeded. (Such was the case, although Pizza Bob's also had some good reviews.) Mistake/Lesson#2: If your intuition/common sense is telling you to look over the menu BEFORE you get seated, please listen. it's Mistake/Lesson #3: If you don't think you're getting a product/service worth the cost, say something AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and provide evidence (e.g., "This pasta dish appears to have been ready to be served for awhile since the Alfredo sauce now has a sheen to it AND it doesn't seem to be worth the $16 price."). Mistake/Lesson #4: I wish I knew that "something could have been done" if I said what I was actually feeling (about being overcharged for most of the food) when our Server asked, "How is everything?"
Finally, I'm upset that through my futile attempts to find some resolution (e.g., requested "credit" for a portion of our meal, or a $30 gift card to give away), the Owner/Manager think I'm trying to cheat THEM over this meal!
Anyway, live and learn. Hope others will learn from my mistakes/lessons so they don't have to live through a similar experience.

Absolutely delicious house dressing, great veggie salad w/cashews, in-house croutons and a perfect blend of lettuce, spinage, alfalfa, red onions, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, crisp cucumbers sprinkled w/cheese and a generous portion of aloha. Sad to hear thier closing on August 28th. There goes another great local eatery on the North Shore.
