My complaint is that I received a gift for Christmas from that was to big the person that brought it for me didn't know that you couldn't get a refund on the merchandise neither did I because I have never brought anything from there. The owner told me that I could not get a refund under any circumstance even if I didn't see anything in his store, he told me that I could only exchange the gift for another one he had to order it for me. I feel like I should be able to get the refund if the gift was to big and should not be forced to purchase something else out of his store. This is not good business to make people buy from you if they do not like your product. I would like to get my money back and not have to do business there again neither will I recommend anyone due to the fact there is no refund and you are forced to purchase from there if you don't want anything from that store.Desired SettlementI would like this issue resolved by given me my money back that I can take my business somewhere else, I will be satisfied if he gave me all my money back not try to deduct from the price because of this complaint.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comWhile we understand the customer's frustration, our return policy is very clear, and clearly posted in multiple placesand has not changed in over 30 years of being in business. First of all, there is a sign approximately 11x14 laminated behind plastic that states our store policy in capital letters as the following:No Refunds.Exchanges within 7 days.Must have receive to make exchanges. (Merchandise cannot be worn or used,)Clearance merchandise final sale. It then goes on to detail our store's Layaway Policy, and our Policy on Special Orders. In addition to this posted sign next to the cash register, there are also two more additional signs just below the cash register on the left and on the right, for a total of 3 posted signs. If that weren't enough, it also says on every receipt from the cash register in capital letters "NO REFUNDS, EXCHANGES WITHIN 7 DAYS." If there had been any confusion, the person purchasing the gift could have easily asked for clarification prior to making the purchase, which she did not apparently do. If she had, it would have been clearly explained to her verbally as well. When the customer came in, we very politely explained our store's policy and asked if we could accommodate her by getting the same garment for her in a different size. She happily agreed, we ordered it, and it arrived. After it arrived, however, the customer stopped answering our phone calls to her know that her special order garment arrived. She still to this day has not stopped back into our store to exchange it for a better size. We always try our very best to accommodate our customers, as we did here, and are aiming to make it right for the customer so he/she consistently has a shopping experience consistent with the integrity with which we run our small business.
