We hired Paul gave him a deposit and signed a contract with him After we gave him a deposit his company started the work then disappeared while we waited for permits Now we have the permits and Paul wants to rewrite the contract for more money

I was hired by [redacted] to do  a job for the [redacted] the people from [redacted] have bailed on them so I wanted to help but the original contract was not mine or under my guide lines it was draw up by them as I was just a subcontractor on the job. So I formulated a new contract to continue...

with the work however the original parameters of the contract have changed due to several factors and design flaws. I will not be responsible or take responsibility to do any work until my contract is signed. Under the old contract the architect was included and all changes that have to be submitted to the township. I will not pay for that and will not be responsible for that. Anytime you have an original contractor who made the deal walk away it always costs more because I have to get a new architect and I have to submit final as built to the township for C.O. which costs more money. If they wish they can contact [redacted] to continue the job as of right now I am paid up for what was required of me. If they wish me to take over this project they must fire [redacted] in a formal certified letter and ask for money back if they wish and we will negotiate the contract. Until those terms are met we see no reason to continue this job at this time.  Hopefully we can work out a solution to the problem so we may proceed.

We are ayet again waiting on the township we had to wait 3 weeks for them to do a change of contractor besides all the ridiculous times for and inspection which is usually 2 weeks per each specific trade. The worst part is the client knew this and has been in contact with my plumber and knows the...

deal. I cannot just finish a basement without inspections and township approvals. I don't know what they think but I will not go against the law because they want to get things done faster.
