Review: The company picked up our convertible [redacted] BMW 325i intact in Ca. They were contracted to ship & deliver it to us in our new home in Nc. During shipping the back window of the convertible top was damaged to the point where it is barely connected to the soft top on the car. When the driver arrived with the car I requested his insurance information and he refused to provide it to me. I took photos of his DOT # XXXXXXX with my cell phone then used the internet to look up his insurance information. [redacted] INSURANCE COMPANY [redacted] MAIL CODE 103ST. [redacted], MN XXXXX-XXXX (XXX) XXX - XXXX. The car was supposed to be fully covered while in transport. The following information is taken from the moving contract "Do note that your car is fully insured when being transported by the contracted carriers liability and cargo insurance. Client will take part in an inspection with driver upon pickup as well as delivery. If any transport damage is noticed it MUST be written on the bill of lading at delivery time, initialed by both parties and reported within 24 hours." I notated the damage to the car on the bill of lading at delivery. The insurance company refused to take a claim because the driver said he did not damage car. They never even sent an adjuster out to look at it. The driver claims damage was an act of god. and is trying to use the following clause in the contract "Neither the designated carrier nor [redacted] will be liable for the following: 1. Any damage to your vehicle that results from weather conditions, such as hail, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, wind, storms, earthquakes, etc." to avoid his responsibility however, damage was not caused by a storm but by his placing the car on the top level of the truck and exposing it to the wind shear while in shipping.

I would like to have the back window of my car either repaired to the condition it was in when the carrier picked it up or replaced. We put our faith in a professional car hauler to get our car to us in the condition it was in when he picked it up. We are not asking for anything outrageous. Just that our car be returned to the condition it was in when they received it. As a professional car mover they should have known how to transport it without damaging it.
