Tell us why hereDISPUTE HAS BEEN RESOLVED/ NO FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY PCB

Review: After returning equipment from Surewest/Consolidated Communications, I received a notice of outstanding charges for several hundred dollars. (The statement I was given when I returned the equipment was for $1.14 owed which they stated they would waive.)I requested a copy of the bill for service or confirmation that the bill was not for service after date of equipment return, but received nothing. Instead bill was sent to Placer Creditors Bureau for collections. Once I received notice from them, I asked for the same information stating that I would be happy to pay if they could show that bill was for service before equipment return. I also sent a check for $1.14. Nothing back from Placer Creditors Bureau except a computer printout giving balance and interest owed. Fast forward 2 years after discovering the account was still open. Since May 11, 2016, I have made 8 calls, spent a total of 85 minutes on the phone with Placer Creditors Bureau, and sent a letter with supporting documents establishing my attempt to resolve since 2014. They refuse to provide me with a letter of deletion although my documentation establishes that I was not intentionally delinquent. I have even made offers to pay full outstanding balance to close account. As of today, July 15, 2016 Placer Creditors Bureau has failed to provide a response or shown a willingness to resolve. Because of their non-responsiveness, I am at risk of loosing my second loan for refinancing.Desired Settlement: I would like my account closed and correction sent to credit report.

Review: We have experienced identity theft over the last 10 years and I have asked Credit Bureau of Placer County to provide me with the records and signed contract for services rendered. They have refused over and over. Under FCRA rules I have asked for this information and I have asked them to remove it from my credit report. I have provided them with my FTC and Police reports. They do not respond to my requests. I have had my attorney proceed with court actions as of yesterday, I gave them until 4pm on 3/11/15 to respond and again no response.Desired Settlement: All I am asking is that they remove it from my credit report; if we end up in court I will be asking for fees and monetary damages.

Review: While pleasant over the telephone, this business deal in classic predatory collection agency practices. A simple mistake by a third party billing department resulted in a routine health insurance claim not being filed. The original third party claimant for services then sent the bill for collection with Placer Creditors Bureau (PCB). Once with PCB, the billing issue was sorted out and the bill was paid without problems by the insurance company. Unfortunately PCB follows typical predatory collection agency behavior by charging interest on the amount owed and deferring that cost to the insured, who is not at fault. They attempted to then leverage payment of any interest accrued from the insured rather than attempting to charge the party at fault, the third party claimant. They do this by telling you that they will send this failure to pay to the credit reporting agencies, unless you pay the outstanding interest immediately.Desired Settlement: Desired solution is for PCB to bill the original third party claimant ([redacted]), who is the actual party at fault for their billing mistake. I also request that they remove any reporting of this transaction from my credit report.

Consumer

Response:

Consumer states that he no longer wishes to pursue the matter. Consumer has gone ahead and dealt with the situation without the business assistance.
