MrK*** signed up for a membership for our club and was upset regarding an annual maintenance fee that he was chargedMr
K*** was emailed a copy of his agreement at the time that he joined and he was told to read over the agreement at the time of joiningHe was also told of the fee and the ways to cancel at the time of joining, this is standard procedure at the time each of our members joinI am sorry that MrK*** feels deceived but he must also take responsibility for any agreement that he signsI am also sorry that he feels a certified letter is a "hassle" but this is for his protectionIf a letter is sent certified then he can track when we received the cancellation and also the person that signed for the letterThis way if we do not cancel his membership he can prove that it was sent.

I am responding to the complaint letter from John O[redacted] ID #10690239....

Per the membership agreement Mr. O[redacted] would need to either send a certified letter or sign a cancel form at the club. Mr. O[redacted] did neither therefore his agreement was not cancelled. Mr. O[redacted] called on June 27, 2015 and spoke with Ashley to cancel. Ashley informed our manager on Monday and the necessary paperwork was filled out. Mr. O[redacted] requested that he would like a copy left at the front desk to pick up for his records. As of the writing of this letter Mr. O[redacted] has not picked up his copy of the cancel form.

Review: I became a member of the club in 2012. I worked in the area and asked for my membership to be discontinued on my way out of area. A year and a half later I checked my account only to see that they had never stopped billing me. I called the club and they stated I had to come to the club in person to have billing stopped. I went to club OVER A YEAR ago traveling from Arizona to California to ask for it to be discontinued. Today I noticed that they have never stopped billing me. I called and spoke to Ashley and she tried to tell me I had to come into the club again!This is fraud. This club has billed me for over two years after Ii have asked for it to be discontinued.Desired Settlement: Planet Fitness has billed me for one FULL YEAR after my second request to cancel. I need this account cancelled IMMEDIATELY and would like a refund of 12 months of membership dues. I need a confirmation email stating that this account has been cancelled.
