I agree with the comment to head quarters that only a checking account is the payment methodIf there is fraud on a checking account by giving out that information you could loose all your cash A credit card is using a 'line of credit' protected and much safer and in the world of identity theft this is poor business practiceThis particular and single issue is why I graded it so poorlyIf you are set on going along with the checking account, only leave about balance and replenish it (yes a pain) every so often

I'm not satisfied with their payment methodTheir only primary payment method is EFT or Bank routing numberI do not have a bank account, I have a Green Dot debit cardI used to have a bank but then it was closed against my own willI don't understand why you HAVE TO pay with a Routing numberIf they were to have an option for prepaid memberships and/or debit card option I would have rated this "Gym" as starsBut because of the EFT payment being the only available payment method, I'd give it starsWhat a jokeThese people should be choked to death for their ignorance"Judgement free"? I don't think soThey are as *** as a gym could get, IMHOWhat a total circus act

The absolute worst!!! I lost my job back in may 2016 and went to my local gym to try and cancel my membership with them in which I kept getting the run around. I googled the corporate number in which they turned me back to where I started from. I was told to call my bank by my local gym and when I did and my bank did an investigation planet fitness told my bank that I never tried to cancel to begin with. I didn't have anything negative to say about planet fitness up until now so for anyone out there looking to purchase a membership through them please run for the hills. The fact that they have your bank routing information gives them freedom to do whatever they please even if you are going through financial hardship so please keep that in mind! They are extremely inconsiderate and are not a customer focused business

Obviously, PF cancellation policies are unlawful, and incredibly fraudulent.
They have a customer service line that is a closed-loop with no answering representatives designed to never field any actual customer complaints or issues. What you have to do is access their directory and leave several messages for either Becky D[redacted], Rich C[redacted], or Mike H[redacted]. There is a regional manager (of the NJ area) whose cell phone is [redacted]. If you call him, demand to be cancelled without the fee (mine was fraudulently implemented after transferring home-clubs without my knowledge), he will subtle admit customer service does not exist. All these gyms design their CS this way to prevent you from cancelling. Planet Fitness with their sketchy business practice's in Rotterdam NY. Manager (Jason) and staff
are giving out my phone number to unsatisfied and wrongfully charged costumers.
I have called the gym several times to tell them they are giving the wrong number for their corporate office, yet the phone calls continue. They insist the number is correct.
I just want them to leave me alone. I am in no way affiliated with Plant Fitness.

If you are set on going along with the checking account, only leave about 50.00 balance and replenish it (yes a pain) every so often.
