Complaint Information: I spoke to member and he was very confusedI believe MrOutlaw is a member of the Amity Planet Fitness in New Haven which is not one of the clubs we ownHe is a Black Card Member at the Amity club and any Black Card Member can use other Planet Fitess facilities (outside of their home club) times a monthMrOutlaw tried to use our Hamden, CT Planet Fitness, at Dixwell Avenue, which we own, but was stopped because he had a prior membership with us in thru that was sent to collections for $If a member has a prior balance, we do not allow them to use our gym without settling this balance first this is why MrOutlaw was denied the use of the Hamden Planet FitnessI talked to MrOutlaw and I reduced his collections balance to $so he could pay and use our Hamden facilityHe agreedThank you for your attention to this matter

After I talked with her, she understood this and wanted a copy of her contract which I mailed to her today. As a courtesy, I reduced her collections balance to $70.00. She will notify me when she is able to pay. Thank you.

Review: I went into the facility to which I hold a membership with a guest today. Upon entering the facility I was told that my basic membership does not have guest privileges, although a huge poster in the lobby listing all the benefits of being a PF member does. The girls behind the desk continued to say that was only a part of the "Black Card membership," although it does not state it on the sign (which I took a photograph of). I called the corporate office and the very rude woman said that it doesn't matter if they put it in writing or advertising. So, pretty much what they are saying is they can print anything they want to lure the consumer in, then screw the consumer royally. Very unprofessional business practices.

Desired settlement is for the company to actually follow through on what they advertise and not stoop to the lows of false advertising just to get someone's $10 a month.

Mr. [redacted] joined the Hamden Planet Fitness on 6.16.13 as a $10.00 per month member (which we also call a Whitecard Membership). Per Mr. [redacted]'s signed contract,(which was thoroughly explained to Mr. [redacted] at the time of joining by our staff,) there are no guest privileges with this type of membership.

In order to have guest privileges, Mr. [redacted] would have had to have joined as a $19.99 per month (also called our Blackcard Membership).

I believe Mr. [redacted] just misunderstood the differences between the two memberships.

[redacted] is obviously in CYA mode, as nothing was "thoroughly explained to Mr. [redacted] at the time of joining by our staff," as I did not join at their facility in person, yet through their website. Also, [redacted] did not cover why their signage does not say anywhere you are required to have a "blackcard membership" (which sounds extremely racist to me, along with Whitecard," to receive the privileges posted on their wall, to which the young woman who was there when I made an in-person complaint made a comment that "oh, we need to change that then." Well, if it is correct, why would you need to change it? This business is a real joke.

*Per telephone conversation with Planet Fitness and Mr. [redacted], all matters have been RESOLVED.

Review: Changed my credit card due to a breach of my account. Planet Fitness claims they could not get in touch with me. My phone number should have been on my account, which just happens to be a number that is totally not mine. [redacted] the manager, stated an employee may have copied the wrong number. For 10 months my account has risen to 180.00. Planet Fitness wants to resolve this matter by waiving the service fee which is 60.00 dollars. I feel the entire amount should be waived because no attempt to contact me was made. Also, [redacted] the manager at the club, stated that they do not send out paper billing anymore and that I will be billed monthly until this issue is resolved. If I hadn't made an attempt to visit the Hamden club, I still would not know there was a balance on my account.Desired Settlement: waive the fees, i'll give them my new information, continue as a member.

Mr. Outlaw tried to use our Hamden, CT Planet Fitness, at 2100 Dixwell Avenue, which we own, but was stopped because he had a prior membership with us in 2009 thru 2010 that was sent to collections for $184.91. If a member has a prior balance, we do not allow them to use our gym without settling this balance first this is why Mr. Outlaw was denied the use of the Hamden Planet Fitness. I talked to Mr. Outlaw and I reduced his collections balance to $93.00 so he could pay and use our Hamden facility. He agreed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
