This was originally filed under complaint#[redacted]. I didn't receive notification in time so to write a rebuttal, so here it is as we discussed. The quotation marks are answers from the original business' response on the complaints,  followed by my answers.1) "This person that has put this complaint brought there 2 other dogs to us just 10 days prior to there stay for daycare while there home was being treated for TICKS. Only she didn't bring her third (The Newfy) cause her words "He was not feeling well and had a Lame front Leg"." I brought my dogs there 2 yrs ago, not 10 days prior. I do not have a 3rd Newfie, I have had 2, and the second one passed in 2014. I actually currently only own 2 dogs.2) "Then when they came in for there stay over Thanksgiving it was her 2 larger dogs, (The Lame Newfy) who had a limp on his front leg, and her American Mastif Mix. They were both on medication already at this time. She also stated that they were dropping so late in the day, cause the Newfy was not feeling well and she debated on canceling but chose not to. She was asked if she wanted exit baths and she said NO SHE is the only one who bathes them with his bad leg." I brought in American bulldog, not a mastiff mix. Further neither of my dogs were lame, and we were never offered an exit bath. I dropped them off late because I was working and told them so, not because I was debating cancelling.3) "There was 2 runs open for them" - there was one run open, we were never offered 24) "They were both on medication already at this time" The dogs were on allergy medicine, Apoquel. They were not on pain meds or antibiotics.5) "and said her dog had slobber on his neck when they got home and wanted to know how it got there." The dogs had small bite marks on their necks, with dried blood on them,  not slobber, and I told them this information.6) "they were able to bring there pet back for free dipping and deticking" - never told or offered this7) "As for the dogs having diareah, []We tell people to provide there  own food. It is stressful when they come to a facility, and to change food for several days that is a result. "  I provided a new full 33 lb. bag of food they eat at home. . It did come back fairly full. Are you telling me that they were not fed the food that I provided?8) "As for them not acting normal it's like going to GYM and running on a treadmill for an entire week, when you get home all you wnat to do is get a drink and sleep" I understand if this was for a day or two. However, that was not the situation. The dogs were lethargic, not tired (there is a difference, when you have to physically shake your dog awake, that is not tired, that is lethargy), stopped eating, and lost over 20 lbs. each in 1 week ( we are talking about dogs that weighted in at 110 and 108 lbs when they went in, and were in the 80's lbs when they were at the vet a week later after their stay). They were ultimately diagnosed with tick fever. Since they didn't have tick fever before this encounter, and they were not tick infested when they left my house, the only logical conclusion would be that they were infected with ticks that were picked up during their stay.9) "The kennel feels we did all that we could to perform our jobs as best as we can.We do not feel that her tick problem at home was do to our facility not preforming at the best of our ability. Her pets were on medication when they came in and there for how are we responsible for their continued use of Medication." When we came in, we didn't have a tick problem at home. I am not sure how my pets being on allergy medicine contributed to this situation? And as a boarding facility, they do have a responsibility to provide the dogs with the medicine that was brought in by the owner, which they did - they returned an empty container to me. As you can see from the above responses, either the owners have us confused with another customers, or their answers are not truthful. I again request that they reimburse me for the stay at their facility plus all the medical expenses I have incurred following this stay. Thank youI look forward to hearing back from you and thank you for your kindness and patience in this matterSincerely,[redacted]

Planet Petopia    ID#: [redacted]                         01/06/2017 We here at Planet Petopia feel this complaint is unfounded. This person that has put this complaint...

brought there 2 other dogs to us just 10 days prior to there stay for daycare while there home was being treated for TICKS.Only she didn't bring her third (The Newfy) cause her words "He was not feeling well and had a Lame front Leg". Then when they came in for there stay over Thanksgiving it was her 2 larger dogs, (The Lame Newfy) who had a limp on his front leg, and her American Mastif Mix. They were both on medication already at this time. She also stated that they were dropping so late in the day, cause the Newfy was not feeling well and she debated on canceling but chose not to.She was asked if she wanted exit baths and she said NO SHE is the only one who bathes them with his bad leg. She helped walk them out to a run, where she wanted them to STAY TOGETHER.(There was 2 runs open for them) she was able to see them how the food bowls are located on the gates at all times weather full or empty. Her dogs did stay together as she wanted, IN THE SAME RUN, no toys, just the blanket that was brought in with them. They were put out for their playtimes together and back in as she asked. We would feed the one at on eend of the kennel and one at the other end, with a person to stand in between til they were done.Sometimes it would be quick about 10 minutes, other days it would be about 45 minutes, but til both dogs walked away from their dishes, that means they're done, kennels are W.4 x 17 L. so there is plenty of walk about room.We did have to seperate the them when they did have a quarrel on sunday mid afternoon, and that is the way they stayed for the rest of their stay. Niether dogs was injured during this quarrel, it was more " tuff guy wrestling" not aggresive fighting, but they were put in seperate runs. She was informed of there stay and how they were doing  each day as to she called to check up on them, but didn't call on Sun. or Mon., as to that was pick up I'm assuming. When she came to pick them up she was told that they were seperated and that was how they would come out.She could put them together but we would not again.I brought out the Newfy first, and he was happy and his tail was wagging. She took him out front then brought him back in to wait for the other. He also came out happy and full of energy. She took both dogs out, she was asked if she would like help and she refused, we watched as they went out and got right up into the back of her vehicle, they were out there for few minutes then drove away. She came back about an hour later and said her dog had slobber on his neck when they got home and wanted to know how it got there. We said they were dry when they left here so it must have been on the drive home. She then acused us of putting her dogs with others, and was told that we do not mix dogs unless they come in together. She insisted on talking to someone else who saw the dogs together. So I got my brother who was working on sat./sunday, she then questioned him on her dogs bein gput with others and again was told WE DO NOT MIX THEM! He told her again, about her dogs quarrel and how they were seperated and she turned and left saying "She was being lied to." As for her dogs taking ticks home, to be honest it's possible, we do our best to not have ticks, but there are some that slip by.We spray weekly and use tick collars for those with sensetive skin and for those staying long term we have drops, if there were any one that informed us of having picked up any ticks, they were able to bring there pet back for free dipping and deticking. As for our workforce: We are family run business, there for our children do help out.They/our customers love talking with them and question them if they are not here to greet them. There are a few customers obviesly who think it's not a place they should be. . . . but this business will be theirs someday and what better way to learn then hands on, they do not do anything risky or dangerous, but they help out, and give love to those pets missing their own children. There ages are 9, 14, and 21. . . . we also have a niece who is 19 years old NOT A CHILD, and 4 adults. So before someone says children as our work force they should their facts straight. As for the dogs having diareah, there is not much we could do about that.We tell people to provide there  own food if they do not upset their bellies, if they do not then this could happen. It is stressful when they come to a facility, and to change food for several days that is a result. As for them not acting normal it's like going to GYM and running on a treadmill for an entire week, when you get home all you wnat to do is get a drink and sleep. So we do advise people to just let them get a drink and sleep it off, but people just don't realize the dog just like them need a vacation from their vacation. The kennel feels we did all that we could to perform our jobs as best as we can.We do not feel that her tick problem at home was do to our facility not preforming at the best of our ability. Her pets were on medication when they came in and there for how are we responsible for their continued use of Medication. We will await your dision on this matter:                                         ... Thank You                                         ...                                     Sincerly...                                         ... [redacted]

I will NEVER go back to this place again and I caution anyone who chooses to do so...yes their prices can be affordable but you get what you pay for sometimes...

someone broke into our home twice in the last year and it was very unnerving, so we decided to get another dog...unlike the lap dog that we currently have...and when we went to this place, we expressed clear concerns about having a second dog for security...we talked about the difference in barking, the intimidation factor since the dog was a pit bull mix, etc... the manager, Barbara, and her children that work there too were very nice at that time...I even saw her youngest daughter give another employee the thumbs up when we began to express interest in a particular dog...

it was an impulsive decision and that was my fault...we purchased the dog for $80 (no refunds!)...once home, the dog immediately began chewing everything in sight except for the chew dogs that we bought him...he even chewed through the new security system wires, shoes, etc. and was extremely defiant...we left him alone with our other dog for less than an hour and while we were gone, he tore up most of what he could reach, including large stuffed animals (still cleaning up that popcorn stuff!!), and oddly enough, he never barked - never (no security there and not even sure if his vocal cords were removed?) so we thought the decision to take him back would be the best one since he was costing me more than what we had paid for him.

here's the issue, not the dog's fault but I believe that we were misled...I believe that they only wanted my money$$...so we got him on a sat, I went to attempt to visit with Barbara on sun about it and then mon we took him back...on sun Barbara was not the nice person from the day before but she was rude and abrupt...I said "good morning" and she responded "how can I help you?" (very distant and cold as if we had just met), so I asked her about the non-barking and she said that he had never barked since being there (not what she led me to believe initially)....I asked about any patterns of excessive chewing and she suddenly knew less than nothing about the dog and only wanted to reiterate that there were no refunds....

the last straw? that dog gave our dog ticks!!!! so now the cost of attempting to get a second dog as security continues to increase...again, not the dog's fault...my fault for giving in to my child and feeling so insecure about the recent break-ins but our situation was made worse by Barbara's BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and LACK OF COMPASSION AND INTEGRITY.
