They called me (Strike #in the scam game) with a buyer at a very good price (Strike #2) I said I was interested but I wanted to make sure there was no upfront money George Wagreed, in writing (he always wanted to use the phone but I forced him to use email), that there wouldn't be any Sure enough, a week or so later, they were telling me that I had to pay weeks of maintenance in advance and that I could wire the money to an escrow acct in Mexico (Strike #- you're out!) They referenced a clause in my contract and it did state that I had to pay years of maintenance fees so I offered to pay the timeshare directly George told me that if I paid the timeshare directly, they would then ignore the sale since they "had me locked in for five years." That didn't make sense because they had years locked in regardless of who the owner was The same clause stated I had to get the timeshare's permission to sell so I told George that I would get the permission first before I sent any money He then told me that they would take care of that but when I pressed him for the authorization by the timeshare, he acted like he didn't know anything about it He pointed me to the clause but forgot about the same clause! I reminded him of the clause and the permission requirement and I said I would get it myself Then he remembered the clause and said he would get it I asked again and he told me we would get the permission at closing I reminded him that we agreed that he would get the permission first, before I wired any money He left a voice mail stating he was confused and didn't understand the permission requirement - we were starting all over again! I told him the deal was off and I haven't answered his numerous calls since the Don't work with this company!
I was contacted by Caleb R*** of Planet Travel, LC in Cheyenne, WY stating that he had someone that wanted to buy my timeshare in Playa-del-CarmenI was skeptical about this He promised me that he would not need to collect any money up front but a week or two later he was wanting me to send $3,to be registered as a Foreign Investor doing business in MexicoAfter weeks or so of him bugging me, I did wire the money to Mexico which was a major mistakeNow, he is wanting $3,for closing and administrative feesI told him that I was not going to send him money and he stated that he would contact the legal department for them to take care of this issueAlso, Newport International Investments, LCC are involved with thisI worked with Stacy C***
