Plank Road Publishing Reviews (2)

We are a very small business and publish many new products each yearWe estimate an “in print” date (not delivery date) of our new products to give our customers an estimate of when the product should be availableUnfortunately, due to the type of creative projects we publish, there can be production delays in any number of stages of production which can in turn cause delays in the product being available and ready to ship/downloadWe always endeavor to release our new products as soon as possible, but the turnaround time for our catalogs make these release estimates difficult for our small company when advertising our upcoming new products This year has been a particularly difficult one for us as one of the owners of the company, who is very involved with every step of the production phase of all of our new products, experienced the death of her mother this springShe was also the primary caretaker for her mother for many months prior to her death which caused unexpected delays in the early stages of several of our planned projectsSince we are such a small company, we don’t have large production teams and we rely on a very small staff to get all of our new Plank Road Publishing products, as well as five issues of Music K-magazine, recorded, edited, and published throughout the yearThis helps keep the cost of our materials reasonable for teachers, and our goal is to provide the highest quality of music at the most affordable priceWe strive, and have always strived, to provide the best service to our customers and we encourage customers to contact us directly should they have questions regarding the release dates of our new productsWe do everything we can to get materials to our customers in a timely mannerUnfortunately, we cannot predict when production delays will happen and we are terribly sorry when we don’t meet our expected deadlinesUsually our customers find that the end product was worth the wait and, when warranted, we have sent coupons to customers as our way of apologizing for delays when we don’t meet our expected deadlines(With one particular product, we even e-mailed customers an electronic “Beta” or preview version of a product, allowing teachers to use some of the materials until the print version was available.) This is not a situation unique to our company and can happen with publishing companies both large and small due to the nature of the products we are creatingAnd although we do allow customers to pre-order products that are not yet published, we do not say on our web site that a Plank Road Publishing product is available until it actually isWe will state on our web site that a product is “coming soon” or “available soon.” We hope the customer considers contacting us directly to remedy the situation, as she stated in the complaint that she has ordered from us many times in the past without problemsWe hope this letter provides an explanation of why several of our products were delayed this yearPlease feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions about this letterThank you for your timeSincerely, [redacted] Communications [email protected] Road Publishing/Music K-magazinehttps://www.musick8.com

production delays in any number of stages of production which can in turn cause delays in the product being available and ready to ship/download. We always endeavor to release our new products as soon as possible, but the turnaround time for our catalogs make these release estimates difficult for our small company when advertising our upcoming new products.  This year has been a particularly difficult one for us as one of the owners of the company, who is very involved with every step of the production phase of all of our new products, experienced the death of her mother this spring. She was also the primary caretaker for her mother for many months prior to her death which caused unexpected delays in the early stages of several of our planned 2016 projects. Since we are such a small company, we don’t have large production teams and we rely on a very small staff to get all of our new Plank Road Publishing products, as well as five issues of Music K-8 magazine, recorded, edited, and published throughout the year. This helps keep the cost of our materials reasonable for teachers, and our goal is to provide the highest quality of music at the most affordable price. We strive, and have always strived, to provide the best service to our customers and we encourage customers to contact us directly should they have questions regarding the release dates of our new products. We do everything we can to get materials to our customers in a timely manner. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when production delays will happen and we are terribly sorry when we don’t meet our expected deadlines. Usually our customers find that the end product was worth the wait and, when warranted, we have sent coupons to customers as our way of apologizing for delays when we don’t meet our expected deadlines. (With one particular product, we even e-mailed customers an electronic “Beta” or preview version of a product, allowing teachers to use some of the materials until the print version was available.) This is not a situation unique to our company and can happen with publishing companies both large and small due to the nature of the products we are creating. And although we do allow customers to pre-order products that are not yet published, we do not say on our web site that a Plank Road Publishing product is available until it actually is. We will state on our web site that a product is “coming soon” or “available soon.” We hope the customer considers contacting us directly to remedy the situation, as she stated in the complaint that she has ordered from us many times in the past without problems. We hope this letter provides an explanation of why several of our products were delayed this year. Please feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions about this letter. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, [redacted]Communications [email protected] Road Publishing/Music K-8 magazinehttps://www.musick8.com
