I had planned my twin daughters' quinceanera for more that a year. I selected Plano Event Center because of their rating with the food made by a chef. Finally, the event was here. I ordered 250 plated dinners for my event, the catering service only served 150 and some of my guest and myself asked the servers for more plates. Their response was that there were no more plates or food. I did a head count and I was more than positive that I did not have more than 250 guests. When I went back to the venue to asked about my food they said they threw it away. When I specifically told my event coordinator that any food left over I wanted to take home with me. Most of my guests were from out of town and I had plenty of guests in town to give before they head back to their destinations. I just can't believe they just threw 100 plates of food, this is what's bothering me the most. I paid high top money for their catering service I was not expecting anything like this why would you throw away someone else's food.

Refund They are offering a refund but they are deducting the food price they had to pay to prepare my food. A complete refund is all I am asking nothing more. I would not be asking for anything if they did not threw away 100 plates at a very high price (26.75+20% service charge + 8.25% sales tax).
Plano Event Center (PEC) prepared 250 plated meals for Mrs.' event. We served 150 plates as 100 of her guests did not show up for her event. After the food had set for approximately 5 hours and dinner was no longer being served, the food was discarded to avoid food contamination per our usual policy. Although there were three supervisors present throughout the evening that Mrs. interacted with regularly, she never mentioned anything to them about taking home leftover food. A few days after the event Mrs. came to the PEC and asked to pick up her leftover food. We informed her that we do not keep leftover food and it had been thrown away. We offered to remake the 100 plates of food for her on a day of her choice and she accepted our offer and told us that our offer "made her heart happy". A few days later she informed us that she wanted money not the food. We informed her that we would refund the monies paid for the 100 plates less our actual food cost since we had prepared all the food on the night of her event and needed to recoup our hard costs. The price per plate was $32.10 less $12.17 for food, meaning we would give her a refund of $19.93 plus $1.64 in taxes times 100 or a total of $2,157.42 for the food she did not get to take home. She was still unhappy saying she wanted the full amount paid. In addition, we waived the cost for staying past her contracted time of midnight which is a $300 fee and the cost of $250 for additional chairs and tables she ordered and did not pay for. Prior to this event, PEC had never refunded a client for meals ordered and produced. Mrs. was sent a refund check a few weeks ago for the food and her security deposit for $3,252.71. We consider this event closed and have no further comments.
