Was asked to move out early and verbally promised a refund. I moved out early as they asked multiple times and then was not given the refund as promisLease ended on 11/27. I was called by each staff ember and was asked to move out early due toothed tenants wanting to move in. I was promised a credit and wouldn't have to pay the cleaning fee. I was never given the credit and was given a bill for the cleaning fee. They did they exact opposite of what they promised. When I called them they all denied their conversations with myself and my husband. They remanded my keys back 3 days prior to my lease ending but still made me pay till the ended of my lease. Desired SettlementI would like to be called about this. I overpaid and want a refund. Business Response Contact Email: [redacted].commComplaint received 12/9/2013-phone call, with Miss [redacted], scheduled for 12/9/13 at noon-per her request. Will work with Miss [redacted] for resolution to complaint.More info received from the business 2013-12-09 11:57am(12/9)-I spoke with Miss [redacted] & got her side of the story. I explained to her that I spoke with the manager at The Plantation at Jacksonville and we have successfully resolved Miss [redacted]'s issue. We have voided her payment of $105 (ck [redacted] and will mail her check back to [redacted] NC XXXXX-we will also clear her account of the charges assessed. 12:25pm-I emailed Miss [redacted] with our resolution and at 12:28pm, we spoke again and she was in agreement of our resolution. She thanked me for my help and confirmed the address on file. I apologized for the miscommunication/confusion and told her she could contact me in the future, if the need arises. Thank you.

Unfair Towing Practices. My daughter has been baby sitting in this neighborhood for three months. She is usually done between 8 and 9 pm. She has never had a problem with parking. Last night she came out at 12:20 am to find her car missing. When we called Jacksonville PD, we were informed the vehicle was towed. We went to the Plantation Office at 8 am and we were told they have nothing to do with the towing but any vehicle not authorized would be towed ("We have signs all Over the area"). The tow company ([redacted]) informed us they have a 'contract' with Plantation and our charges are $225.00. This seems extreme (a kick-back operation) and dangerous (walking out at basically 1 am and your vehicle is gone). Desired SettlementRefund.Business Response To whom it may concern-My name is [redacted] and I work with Mrs. [redacted] the property manager at The Plantation at Jacksonville. I have been in receipt of the compliant from Ms. [redacted] about the incident that occurred involving the towing of her daughters car. (Case #XXXXXXXX).I am sorry to hear that her car was towed....as I know what an inconvenience it is to be without a car. Please know that all of us at The Plantation at Jacksonville, as well as [redacted] do our best to ensure our residents (and guests) have a pleasant experience during their stay with us. The Plantation at Jacksonville has 360 apartment homes and although we feel that the property provides plenty of parking, we decided to offer a visitor parking lot to help with the addition of cars on site, due to family members and guests of residents. With us using a 3rd party company, for all our towing needs, we do allow them to make the call on which cars need to be towed, as long as they follow the guidelines we set for the residents (proper tags, insurance, parking passes, etc). In order for us to keep the property and the parking lot "in check" it is important that we stick to the policies/procedures we have in place. *there are towing signs posted all over the property, from the entrance of the property to the back of the property.I hope you can appreciate our efforts when it comes to our towing policies. I would also like it noted that the property, the company, our employees, etc... do not receive any "kick-backs" from the towing of cars. We use a 3rd party so that there is consistency and fairness when it comes to enforcing the towing of cars.I realize this is the 1st time Ms. [redacted]'s daughter has experienced an issue with our parking/towing policy (over a 3 month period). Being a guest of a resident, Ms. [redacted] should have been made aware of our policies and procedures, when it comes to towing on site, from the resident she was babysitting for. However, I understand mis-communications & mishaps occur-life can be messy and therefore I am willing to meet her half-way. If they can provide Mrs. [redacted] with a copy of the receipt, from their towing ticket, we are willing to offer a gift card for 1/2 the cost to help re-coop some of their loss. I hope everyone will see this as an amicable solution for both parties. As a guest of one of our resident's, we ask that you please check in at the office if you have any questions (going forward) on where guests should park (to avoid being towed again). Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your time and cooperation.

Good evening, I am requesting information on how to make a complaint about the new apartments in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The apartment is called, "The Plantation at Jacksonville. It is located on 5116 Western Boulevard, Jacksonville NC XXXXX. I was told price information for their two bedroom apartments when I wanted and needed a 3 bedroom apartment. Also they had me sign the lease and all the other paperwork without going over any of what I was signing. Now as of June 30, 2014, I am being told that I do not have services included in my rent because it is a three bedroom. I was told that utilities is included in the rent along with trash. However I found out today that utilities to them does not included electric. I want to make a complaint about the misinformation given to me from the time of the sale. Also the lack of going through each piece of paper they had me to sign. Thank you for your time. [redacted]XXX-XXX-XXXX cell[redacted].com The name of the apartments I have a complaint about is:The Plantation at Jacksonville5116 Western BlvdJacksonville NC XXXXXXXX-XXX-XXXX/XXX-XX-XXXX My information is: [redacted]XXX-XXX-XXXX cell[redacted].com email My complaint is from yesterday June 30, 2014, when I was told by the assistant manager that the rent, trash and utilities did not include the electric bill. So I ask since when utilities doesn't include electricity. I was told on yesterday that only the two bed room apartments included electricity in the overall rent. My response was I never asked for a two bed room and I wasn't told this until yesterday. My major issue is that I narrowed my apartment search between two apartments. And they both told me that all utilities, trash and rent is altogether. Until yesterday they said it isn't included and I signed the lease showing it isn't included. So, then the assistant manager asked me and my wife did anyone go over all the lease paper work with me. And I told her no! All I was told is that the paper work could not leave the office and I had to sign everything there, and their office was closing in a few minutes so I rush through and signed everything. I feel their costumer service has been unprofessional from the start of my apartment search. I was never shown a three bed room apartment. Only a two bed room and when I asked why I was told it just a model room and it does not make a difference. Again on yesterday the assistant manager told me her employees must have been confused and thought I requested a two bed room apartment. So after realize the assistant manager kept throwing the fact that I signed the lease no matter if any one explained it to me or not. And unless I had written proof or what her employees said, she did not pretty much care what I said because I signed the lease. Even though they know I would have went and signed the lease for the other apartments that said trash, rent and all utilities is in fact included. So, I feel that they wanted to make sure I didn't go to the other apartments, so they told me what ever I wanted to hear just to mislead me and get me to sign the lease. I was called several times since June 1, 2014 and different employees there. However, today the assistant manager told me and my wife that she is the only person that calls about money issues and that isn't true at all. I was lied to several times from the employees at The Plantation at Jacksonville, and their lack of customers service and unprofessionalism is a little scary. Again they mislead me about what the total price would be with the utilities, rent and trash all included. Please contact me in this matter at XXX-XXX-XXXX cell or this email address. Thank you. My only other option is to go to my base legal. However, I understand in a military town, base legal is almost a joke and a non-factor to non-military persons.Desired Settlementthey mislead me about what the total price would be with the utilities, rent and trash all included.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] PM DirectorContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted].comTo whom it may concern-My name is [redacted] and I work with Mrs. [redacted], the property manager at The Plantation at Jacksonville. I have been in receipt of the complaint from Mr. [redacted] about the incident that occurred involving the miscommunication on the price quoted for an apartment. (Case #XXXXXXXX).I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience this miscommunication has caused. Please know that all of us at The Plantation at Jacksonville, as well as [redacted] do our best to ensure our residents (and guests) have a pleasant experience during their stay with us.Mr. [redacted]'s first visit, at The Plantation, was on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Upon his first he inquired about a 2 & a 3-bedroom apartment home, which he was looking for his mom and grandmother. Our marketing associate, [redacted] showed Mr. [redacted] our 2 bedroom model [redacted] since there were no 3 bedroom homes available to show on May 15th. After touring the model, they went back to the office so Mr. [redacted] could pick up his photo ID. Mr. [redacted] did not reserve an apartment home at this time.On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Mr. [redacted] came back to The Plantation and applied for a 3-bedroom apartment home for a move-in date of June 2, 2014. He paid the $99 (which covers a $49 application fee and $50 for the reservation fee; money order # XX-XXXXXXXXX). At this time we reserved apartment home [redacted] (the only 3 -bedroom, 1st floor home that was available). The apartment was rented in Mr. [redacted]'s name until his mother and grandmother were able to relocate to NC from [redacted] On May 21st, Mr. [redacted] decided to wait at the office while his application was being processed. [redacted] assist manager, processed his application while Mr. [redacted] waited in the clubroom. His application was approved and no deposit was required. About a week later, Mr. [redacted] came back to view our three-bedroom floor-plan. [redacted] took Mr. [redacted] to the 3 bedroom apartment. A few days later he came back again to measure/take pictures to show his mom. When Mr. [redacted] did not show up for his move-in date of June 2, 2014, [redacted] (marketing associate) contacted Mr. [redacted]. At this time he asked us to push his date back to June 14, 2014. [redacted] called Mr. [redacted] on June 13, 2014 to confirm his move-in date and at that time he told her that there was an issue with his mother's storage and would be unable to move-in on the 14th. No other date was given at this time. As the days went by, we just pushed his move-in date back-since he could not commit to a set date that he needed to move.Tuesday/Wednesday, the following week, [redacted] called Mr. [redacted] to check in. At this time he was waiting on dates of confirmation from his mother/grandmother, but no new date was set for moving.Mr. [redacted]'s mother, [redacted] called that same week asking about paying for the rent for apartment # [redacted] spoke with [redacted] and told her that their monthly rental amount was $1035.00 (which as a special that the property was running is $100 off per month of the market rate of $1135, which also included trash, washer/dryer and water).[redacted] called Mr. [redacted] when the money orders for the rent were received (since she had no contact information for [redacted] At that time Mr. [redacted] said they were now just waiting on his mom to get to Jasonville. *Still no move-in date was set.On June 24th, [redacted] called Mr. .[redacted] again to check in. At this point Mr. [redacted] confirmed that he was still moving in and that he was not going anywhere else and since his mom set the money for the rent-everything should be ok. They were waiting on the furniture to be delivered to Jacksonville, so his mom did not have to move into an empty apartment. Mr. [redacted] showed up on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 to move in to apartment [redacted] adjusted the lease dates to reflect the actual move-in date of June 25, 2014. [redacted] sat down with Mr. [redacted] to review the lease and explain where to sign/date/initial. Mr. [redacted] took care of his entire lease signing on the 25th and by the time he got back to the office with his mom's car registration, [redacted] had left for the day (5:00pm).Monday, June 30th, Mr. [redacted] came back to the office to ask about his rental amount and why the electric was not included in the rent. [redacted] pulled his file and guest card-to see where the confusion started. Upon his 1st visit (5/15/14), the 2 and 3 bedroom floor-plans had different specials. 2 bedroom floor-plan (model) was on special for $1079 (electric, water, trash included) OR2 bedroom floor-plan (model) at $850 (water and washer/dryer only).3 bedroom floor-plans were on special for $1035 (water, trash and washer/dryer only included). It can be noted on Paragraph 1C what utilities are paid for by the US (the LESSOR).Which includes: water, sewer, and garbage are all checked on Mr. [redacted]'s lease *Please note electricity was not. When we realized that there was miscommunication and/or confusion, we asked for Mr. [redacted] to provide us with the paper that he said had the specials written on it from his 1st visit. We told Mr. [redacted] we would honor the price noted (if there was an error made). To stay fair and equitable, with all prospects, we needed the paper as back up (for his file) in order to honor the price Mr. [redacted] said he was quoted for the 3 bedroom, with electric included.[redacted] spoke with Mr. [redacted]'s wife on June 30th, she apologized for Mr. [redacted]'s behavior, and said that they would get it all straightened out together. She mentioned things had been quite hectic, but that the lease was signed and if she found the paper with the prices on it, she would be bringing it to the office. Our last communication with Mr. [redacted] was on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 when he came to the office to get a parking sticker for his mom's car. Thank you, in advance, for your time and cooperation.
