We understand the damage was caused by our roofers, we are not denying that or repairs to your homeI do want you to understand that we are in contact with the insurance on your behalf, but it is causing the process to take longer due to the relay of messages from one person to the nextWe are trying our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possibleI have contacted [redacted] a few times in regards to the difference in the movie payment you are claimingI am however still waiting on the amount you are requesting for the other half of the movies you are claiming***, is waiting on a response from his boss to approve more money on the movie replacementI will let you know as soon as I get an answer what they can offer or what we can offer.I am assuming from your statement that you did receive the check for roughly $18,000? Please confirm this with us, for if not I will have them re-issue the checkPlease keep us posted about these things, so that we as the contractor know what our next move needs to be to finish up this process and have our insurance company restore your home.Again the only reason we threatened lien was because at that time, as far as we knew, that was the only way to secure our interest in final payment for the completed roofWe understood your home was not restored to prior condition at that point, but we only had days to file the lien from last date of work and time was running outAs we found out and have informed you multiple times this is not a path that we have decided to follow to secure our interests. You are threatening legal action, but besides the difference in the movie amount (which is under review by our insurance and us) and additional money that may need to be paid if more damage is found during repairs (which will be taken care of once repairs finally start and problems are found), I'm not sure what else you want to avoid this legal actionI know you are claiming lost time, but we are still waiting on an amount from you for that matter, at that time we will discuss if that is something we may be able to offerI'm assuming though that you are not going to have a number for lost pay until all work is complete on your homeThe only other issue that you have addressed that you may be referring to as far as legal action I guess could be negotiating the contract, but until all other issues are resolved we feel it is not the appropriate time to discuss changes to the final payment amount as far as the roof goes.So please let us know if you have received the check from the insurance and when work is set to be started and if possible completedI'm not sure what other concerns besides the movies that I can address at this time in regards to this issue or what else you are looking for at this specific time to avoid legal action or to move forward in the process

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I am waiting on a check to start the repairs The company has not offered any information on how they are going to pay for my time of missed work, when the repairs start I recently sent RSG a copy of my mold inspection and havent heard anything relating to any removal of mold when the repairs begin Regards, [redacted]

[redacted] As I'm sure you remember you kicked us off your roof as we were waterproofing for the night, regardless of what time we were on the roof until, we still needed to seal it up before leaving for the nightAfter you notified us the next day that it was leaking we came out as soon as possible to tarp the places that were not in fact waterproofed as originally attemptedThe funds you are referring to, to repair your home, by the interior contractor of your choice, in the amount of ($18,106.40) have been sent in the mail as of 12/2/as we have stated to you in our last email prior to this complaint and if you have not received them by mid December we asked you to notify us or our insurance repairing your home to re-issue the checkAs far as additional damages that may be found during repair, that also is still being addressed by our insurance which they have told you and we have told you in our previous email, stating that if they are found the insurance will re-assess the damage and provide payment to fix the new problems that may arise as well. The email you received was simply letting you know about the terms of the warranty and the time frame in which it needed to be filed with the shingle manufacture (GAF) not us, and as discussed in our previous email as well, per your conversation with them, they have agreed to honor the warranty once everything is settledWe never said you wouldn't receive it, we simply let you know the terms and made you aware that it wasn't our decision whether we could file the warranty after the deadline. The lien was threatened and not acted upon for the remaining balance of the roof in order to secure the warranty which was one of the terms for the warranty to be filedAgain as discussed in our previous email it is not going to be acted upon at this time since you still have not received the check that was sent on December and you are claiming there may be hidden issues that will need to be addressed with our insurance if they ariseWe have found there are other ways to secure our interest in final payment that do not require the lien to be filed at this time.As far as the interior of your home no one has ever made any inclination to you that you would not be taken care of and things are not stalling, payment is under way to begin repairsWe have never said as well that we would not hear your claim for time off work once work is completed and consider whether that is something we can offer or not.The wood replaced on your roof is the same type of wood that was originally installed on your and is up to code in your county and is within the roofing standardsAs far as the subcontractor claim, once all is said and done we are also open to hearing your idea of what a fair final payment is

Yes the roofers were asked to leave at 9:00pm due to safety issues Its is pitch black at 7:30pm and I do not have flood lights on my home, nor did they bring any How do you work in the dark? I have a yr old son that also had school the next morning and 9pm is getting ready for bed Regardless of the situation, they should work at dark time and they did the damage, not me My last contact with RSG insurance carrier was November 23, I will not have any dealing with them, they are not my insurance carrier My contract is with RSG and it is their responsibility to keep an eye on this If RSG didnt send me an email, threatening to place a lien on my home, I wouldn't be in this situation This was very unprofessional for RSG to do something like this Until my home is fixed, this is a valid complaint This is consuming to much of my time and I cant keep going back and forth My next steps will result in legal action I hate to do this to any company but all I want is my home repaired It is now the holidays, my home is in disarray and contractors cant get things started until after the first of the year Maybe, I have a starter check to help pay for the repairs

I emailed the owners of RSG roofing yesterday, stating that I still haven't received any funds as indicated on I also submitted receipts for the VHS, Books and Mold test that were higher than what they stated in the information In the email of 12.12.2016, it was noted that any repairs, replacements etc that were higher then what the insurance quoted, would have to be reviewed At this point, I have sent documentation and I am waiting In the email, I did state, when and if, they issue another check, to please send it via Certified Mail

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Yes, I did call *** *** and ask the roofers get off of my home at 9:00pm The reason is: it was dark at 7:30pm and I felt this was a safety issue I dont have spot lights nor did the company and actually, who can see in the dark Also, I have a 9yr old child that needs to get ready for bed, due to the fact he has school in the morning I really didn't want to get this "petty" about issues, but I can see where this is going This is a email, that I received from ***. As we have discussed previously, our obligation is to pay to put your home and belongings back into their pre-loss condition and this means paying for the actual cash value of your property and not the replacement cost of same. I believe we are being very fair and reasonable as evidence by our offer of $20,000.00, which is contingent upon you providing our insured and the subcontractor that did the work with a full and final release. If this offer is not acceptable, once again, I recommend that you turn this claim in to your own homeowners insurance company and let them handle and pay this claim and then they can subrogate us. If you go this route and provide me proof of your deductible, I'm more more than happy to send you a check for your deductible. Thanks,*** It is not my responsibility to contact this insurance carrier November 23, was my last contact I will not be filing a claim with my insurance carrier as recommended by my insurance agent *** also stated that I could buy my ruined VHS tapes and books at yard sales, which will not happen due to BED BUGS I was stunned to think, a company would recommend this Finally, I am glad they will not be placing a lien on my home However, if one is made on my home, I will file a law suit against RSG for the thousand plus damages to the interior of my home and not using the products upon the initial installation of my roof This is truly unprofessional of RSG and they should never threaten a customer, due to their negligence I only want my home repaired

Since the Revdex.com closed this complaint, due to our continued efforts to make right of the situation, we were unable to leave a final response on your last issue until nowWe felt it is necessary to close the matter here as well with the following response:According to the attached report that you provided to us, there has been no mold found to dateSee the excerpt from your original report below:“SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS Based on our visual inspection and concurrent lab samples, we did not definitively detect a mold problem in the Dining Room, Living Room or Bedroom #Closet areas of the homeNo visible mold-like growth was observed, our collected air samples were within tolerances, and all building materials tested were dryHidden mold growth is always a possibility in association with the previously water damaged building materialsClient may wish to have invasive exploration performed to definitively check for hidden mold growthWe’ve included invasive exploration information belowBased on the findings of our visual assessment, a mold problem is possible in the Bedroom #or 2nd Floor Hall areas of the homeSampling and laboratory analysis and/or invasive exploration would be useful in determining if a problem existsHidden mold growth is possible in all affected areasSee below for invasive exploration recommendationsLIMITATIONS Client did not request collection of all of the microbial samples recommended for this projectConsider engaging *** *** *** to collect all of the recommended samples to facilitate a more complete analysis.”In the event that mold is found, it is very likely that is was caused from the preexisting leaks for which you contacted us forDuring installation we had to replace rotted decking on the roof, these rotted boards were present before our arrival and were one of the main issues causing the leaks prior and during installationSince you made a homeowners claim on your roof prior to contacting us they would have documentation of any issues that were present in accordance with any roofing issues or leaksWe did agree to let our insurance take care of the damages, since leaking did occur during install as wellWe do not believe the mold, if found, is a direct correlation to the leak during install, but we are trying to be as understanding as possible and hear your additional claims after repairs are finally underwayAs far as time off work, we are not legally responsible to cover your lost wages, but as a courtesy we are again willing to hear your claim once all is said and doneAs previously stated we will not obligate ourselves to either of these issues, but we are willing to try to work with you once you present us with a final amount with documentationAfter all is said and done, any money that we offer you toward any additional expenses that you may incur we will deduct from the final balance that you still owe usOnce final payment for the roof is satisfied your GAF warranty will then be filed

I emailed the owners of RSG roofing yesterday, stating that I still haven't received any funds as indicated on 12.12.2016.  I also submitted receipts for the VHS, Books and Mold test that were higher than what they stated in the 12.12.2016 information.  In the email of 12.12.2016, it was noted that any repairs, replacements etc that were higher then what the insurance quoted, would have to be reviewed.  At this point, I have sent documentation and I am waiting.  In the email, I did state, when and if, they issue another check, to please send it via Certified Mail.

As stated in the email you received yesterday from [redacted] with our insurance company they will be putting a stop payment on the previously issued check for the damages and re-issuing it via certified mail. [redacted] also agreed to pay the amount you are requesting for the mold inspection as well as the videos and books that were damaged as stated in the email from [redacted]. So the funds for the new revised amount are on the way via certified mail. If more damages are found once repairs start please contact the insurance company for a re-evaluation of the damages for additional payment. Be sure to let us know when all of the repairs are completed or if there is anything else we need to do to finalize this issue.

[redacted]As I'm sure you remember you kicked us off your roof as we were waterproofing for the night, regardless of what time we were on the roof until, we still needed to seal it up before leaving for the night. After you notified us the next day that it was leaking we came out as soon as possible to...

tarp the places that were not in fact waterproofed as originally attempted. The funds you are referring to, to repair your home, by the interior contractor of your choice, in the amount of ($18,106.40) have been sent in the mail as of 12/2/16 as we have stated to you in our last email prior to this complaint and if you have not received them by mid December we asked you to notify us or our insurance repairing your home to re-issue the check. As far as additional damages that may be found during repair, that also is still being addressed by our insurance which they have told you and we have told you in our previous email, stating that if they are found the insurance will re-assess the damage and provide payment to fix the new problems that may arise as well. The email you received was simply letting you know about the terms of the warranty and the time frame in which it needed to be filed with the shingle manufacture (GAF) not us, and as discussed in our previous email as well, per your conversation with them, they have agreed to honor the warranty once everything is settled. We never said you wouldn't receive it, we simply let you know the terms and made you aware that it wasn't our decision whether we could file the warranty after the deadline. The lien was threatened and not acted upon for the remaining balance of the roof in order to secure the warranty which was one of the terms for the warranty to be filed. Again as discussed in our previous email it is not going to be acted upon at this time since you still have not received the check that was sent on December 2 and you are claiming there may be hidden issues that will need to be addressed with our insurance if they arise. We have found there are other ways to secure our interest in final payment that do not require the lien to be filed at this time.As far as the interior of your home no one has ever made any inclination to you that you would not be taken care of and things are not stalling, payment is under way to begin repairs. We have never said as well that we would not hear your claim for time off work once work is completed and consider whether that is something we can offer or not.The wood replaced on your roof is the same type of wood that was originally installed on your and is up to code in your county and is within the roofing standards. As far as the subcontractor claim, once all is said and done we are also open to hearing your idea of what a fair final payment is.

We understand the damage was caused by our roofers, we are not denying that or repairs to your home. I do want you to understand that we are in contact with the insurance on your behalf, but it is causing the process to take longer due to the relay of messages from one person to the next. We are trying our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. I have contacted [redacted] a few times in regards to the difference in the movie payment you are claiming. I am however still waiting on the amount you are requesting for the other half of the movies you are claiming. [redacted], is waiting on a response from his boss to approve more money on the movie replacement. I will let you know as soon as I get an answer what they can offer or what we can offer.I am assuming from your statement that you did receive the check for roughly $18,000? Please confirm this with us, for if not I will have them re-issue the check. Please keep us posted about these things, so that we as the contractor know what our next move needs to be to finish up this process and have our insurance company restore your home.Again the only reason we threatened lien was because at that time, as far as we knew, that was the only way to secure our interest in final payment for the completed roof. We understood your home was not restored to prior condition at that point, but we only had 60 days to file the lien from last date of work and time was running out. As we found out and have informed you multiple times this is not a path that we have decided to follow to secure our interests. You are threatening legal action, but besides the difference in the movie amount (which is under review by our insurance and us) and additional money that may need to be paid if more damage is found during repairs (which will be taken care of once repairs finally start and problems are found), I'm not sure what else you want to avoid this legal action. I know you are claiming lost time, but we are still waiting on an amount from you for that matter, at that time we will discuss if that is something we may be able to offer. I'm assuming though that you are not going to have a number for lost pay until all work is complete on your home. The only other issue that you have addressed that you may be referring to as far as legal action I guess could be negotiating the contract, but until all other issues are resolved we feel it is not the appropriate time to discuss changes to the final payment amount as far as the roof goes.So please let us know if you have received the check from the insurance and when work is set to be started and if possible completed. I'm not sure what other concerns besides the movies that I can address at this time in regards to this issue or what else you are looking for at this specific time to avoid legal action or to move forward in the process.

I have received a check but I haven't cashed it.  I sent a copy of the MOLD Report to RSG as well as [redacted].  Now my home has mold due to the massive water damage that will need attention from RSG on how to handle.  I did receive a email from [redacted], RSG, Insurance company stating they do not handle the mold issues relating to the water damage.  He, [redacted] also address, his company doesn't handle my compensation that would be needed for my missed time at work to have my home repairs.  I cant afford to miss time without pay.  I sent an email back to [redacted], RSGs insurance company, stating that I would not cash the check until these 2 items have been discussed and moving forward to a resolution.  I haven't received any type of a response from RSG Roofing as of today.   Respectfully,[redacted]

I am waiting on a check to start the repairs.  The company has not offered any information on how they are going to pay for my time of missed work, when the repairs start.  I recently sent RSG a copy of my mold inspection and havent heard anything relating to any removal of mold when the repairs begin.
