Yes, the claimant brought in a 2001 Chevy work truck to be detailed. At the time the customer dropped off his truck, he told our detailer that the truck was a work truck and had never been cleaned before. We had the customer read and sign our waiver about personal belongings left in the car....

In addition, before our detailers begin working on a vehicle, they fill out a Pre-Detail Inspection which notes the condition of the vehicle. Our team of 3 detailers spent 3 hours detailing and cleaning his truck. When the customer picked the truck up, he was elated and said his truck never looked so good. He left happy. When we learned of the customer dissatisfaction. Our manager let the customer know about our Disclaimer of not being responsible for vehicles over 5 years. But, we offered to touch-up or redo any missed items. The customer said no and left. Detailing results inherently vary because every vehicle is unique. One can not expect the same detail results for a moderately soiled vehicle as they can for a heavily, never-been cleaned before work truck. I'm not saying this as a cop out, it's a fact. One reason for this is fibers, fabrics and other materials including rubber mats breakdown when not cleaned on a regular basis. On the same note; the car washing industry has a standard disclaimer of not being responsible for vehicles over 3 years old. We extend ours to 5 years. This is because of the same reason. Wear and tear varies and parts break down. Mirrors are noted on our disclaimer as well as the age of the vehicle because they sustain a lot of bumps and hits over the years. In addition, manufactures use plastic pieces to hold the mirror on and after time they dry out and becomes brittle. It is not something that we see often but we certainly have seen a few. We have been in business for 13 years and work very hard at what we do because we value our customers.  In our opinion we preformed the service that was paid for and even went above and beyond to make the vehicle look as good as it could. We also have our disclaimer of not being responsible for vehicles older than 2010. But that is not what we are all about. Our offer of resolution, we will agree to issue a refund of $192.32 in the form a check to be mailed via USPS. But we cannot be held responsible for the mirror repair.  Please see the attached photos of our disclaimer signs, pre-detail inspection and signed waiver. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you.
